My daughter has always loved animals. I remember taking her to see Old Macdonald's farm in Freeport Fleetwood a few years ago and there were some lovely animals. It was such a fun day out and we had the best time.
In fact, my ancestors lived on a Farm in Harrogate. It's called Quarry Farm, in Pye Lane and we recently went to visit the farm, and my Nanan shared stories of her brother being chased by a pig. Today we have a real treat to share.
These are the most adorable Old MacDonald craft for kids. Perfect for Easter but also great as an animal-themed craft for spring or summer and a wonderful activity to do with the little ones.

🧑🎨 Expert Tips
- Egg Selection: Choose smooth, durable plastic eggs or hard-boiled ones so paint and glue stay firmly without cracking or peeling unexpectedly.
- Base Coating: Apply a primer or solid base layer first to help every paint color appear brighter and more consistent across the egg surface.
- Facial Feature Placement: Lightly pencil in the eyes, snout, or beak location before painting to maintain balance and proper scale on all sides.
- Attachment of Appendages: Hold ears, tails, or hats in place firmly with tacky glue until they’re fully set to avoid misalignment during drying.
- Drying Stand: Rest each egg in a bottle cap or upright carton section to prevent smudging and allow airflow around all edges evenly.
- Detailing: Once the first layer is dry, use fine-tipped markers or brushes to add clean features like nostrils, pupils, or feather lines with precision and detail.
