Old MacDonald Egg Craft For Kids

My daughter has always loved animals. I remember taking her to see Old Macdonalds farm in Freeport Fleetowood a few years ago and there were some lovely animals. It was such a fun day out and we had the best time. In fact my ancestors lived on a Farm in Harrogate. It’s called Quarry Farm, in Pye Lane and we recently went to visit the farm and my Nanan shared stories of her brother being chased by a pig. Today we ave a real treat to share. These are the most adorable Old MacDonald themed eggs. Perfect for Easter but also great as a animal themed craft for spring or summer and a wonderful activity to do with the little ones.

Let’s Make It

Painting the Eggs

Paint the wooden eggs. You will need to give each egg 2-3 coats of paint. Allow the paint to dry completely.

Download the template and print out. Cut the template out and trace onto cardstock. Cut each piece out.

Glue the pieces of the ears together and use a black marker to draw lines onto the straw hat.  Paint facial features onto each egg and don’t forget to add character such as spots on the cow.

Glue the ears onto each egg, the straw hat onto the farmer etc.

Glue a small piece of feather on the duck’s head.

Use a pencil to draw eyes onto each egg.

When you are satisfied with how the eyes look, trace over them with a black paint pen or permanent marker.

Your eggs are finished!

Creating the Barn

Download the template and print out.

Cut the template out and trace onto cardstock. Cut each piece out.

Glue the pieces of the barn together. (refer to the photos)

Use a black marker to draw lines on the top of the silo.

  1. OMG – what amazing little farm animals. Shame I didn’t see your post pre- Easter, but still going to give them a go with the kids over the Easter Holidays. They look easy to do and very effective!!!!
