💭 FAQs
To make this storytelling craft, you'll need wooden spoons, Posca paint pens, googly eyes, a hot glue gun, red and brown felt, gold glitter cardstock, scissors, and a pencil. Optional buttons can be added for extra decoration. These materials come together to help craft the characters of Little Red Riding Hood and the Wolf.
The faces are first lightly sketched onto the spoons with a pencil. Little Red Riding Hood’s face is painted using a flesh-toned pen, with pink added for her cheeks and black lines to define features. For the Wolf, brown, white, and black are used to give him a more textured look. Googly eyes are then glued onto both characters to bring them to life.
Little Red Riding Hood’s iconic red hood and cape are made by cutting and gluing red felt to the spoon, while the Wolf gets a brown felt piece to represent his fur or outfit. Felt pieces are glued carefully in place, and you can even use buttons to hide glue seams or just add a little flair.
These story spoons are great for interactive storytelling, especially during reading time or group activities. Kids can use them to act out scenes from the classic tale, helping develop imagination, listening skills, and even confidence in retelling stories their own way.
