Who Are the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles?

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are four fictional anthropomorphic turtles who named themselves after Italian Renaissance artists and who were trained in the Japanese martial art of ninjutsu.

The group was created by Peter Laird and Kevin Eastman. They first appeared in an American comic book published by Mirage Studios in 1984 in Dover, New Hampshire.

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles have appeared in several comic books, movies, video games, and toys. They are one of the most popular and recognizable franchises in pop culture.

The four turtles are Leonardo (Leo), Raphael (Raph), Michelangelo (Mikey), and Donatello (Donnie). They were raised by their adoptive father and sensei, Master Splinter.

The turtles live in the sewers of New York City and fight crime against villains such as Shredder, Krang, and Baxter Stockman.
