🖌️ How To Make Minions Paper Craft With a Paper Bag
- Step 1: Start by downloading the minion craft template PDF file Print the PDF on paper.
- Step 2: Cut out all of the pieces from the printed paper. Glue the yellow minion's body and head to the bag. Make sure that the rounded headpiece is attached to the flap while the body (rectangle) is attached to the main part of your brown paper lunch bag.
- Step 3: Glue on the overalls. Trim the bottom of the overall and paper bag to match the height of your minion, depending on which one you're making.
- Step 4: Attach the pocket to the top of the outfit. Glue two small black buttons to the overalls' shoulder straps and the last black circle in the pocket's middle. Use a black marker to draw your logo on the pocket.
- Step 5: Horizontal secure the black strip over the head. Glue the pupils to the eye cutouts, then both to the goggle cutouts. The goggles should be glued to the strap of the head cutout.
- Step 6: Glue the eyelids to the eyes, matching the curve to the inside of the goggles. You may simply draw a smile on Kevin's face with a black marker, but we decided to cut his mouth out of black paper, teeth from white paper, and tongue from red paper.
- Step 7: For Kevin and Stuart, cut short, varying-sized pieces of black string to make silly hair. However, Bob has no hair so you don't need to worry about this for Bob. Tape the hairpieces to the back of the head (glue doesn’t hold as well). Attach the eyes. Make sure that when you close your minion's mouth, their eyelids are touching too because it looks funny otherwise!
💡 Pro Tip: Customize each Minion puppet by varying facial expressions, accessories, and hairstyles. This personalization encourages creativity and makes each puppet unique, enhancing imaginative play.
🧑🎨 Expert Tips
- Give Your Minion a Job Title: Assign each puppet a goofy occupation like "Banana Chef" or "Rocket Repair Minion," inspiring role-play beyond the look.
- Design a Mischief Meter: Draw a silly "mischief scale" somewhere on the puppet that kids can adjust based on how naughty or nice their Minion is acting.
- Make a Fold-Out Scene: Attach a mini background (like Gru’s lab or a beach) folded behind the puppet so it pops open during play.
- Invent a Silly Toolbelt: Create tiny drawn or glued-on gadgets (like banana launchers or sticky shoes) to spark hilarious new storylines.
- Give Them Wild Walking Feet: Craft oversized flappy shoes from cardstock that wiggle when the puppet moves, making your Minion clumsier and funnier.
- Celebrate Banana Holidays: Decorate your Minion with party hats, cake, or balloons for made-up Minion holidays, keeping the designs seasonal and dynamic.
💭 FAQs
Minions are small, yellow creatures that have appeared in several of the Despicable Me movies. In the films, they are often seen working for the main antagonist, Gru. However, they have also been known to work for other villains, such as Scarlet Overkill in Minions (2015).
While minions may be small, they are also very strong and have been known to defeat much larger opponents. They are also very loyal, which is why they make such good henchmen.
While minions may not be the brightest creatures around, they are still lovable and have become some of the most popular characters in the Despicable Me franchise.
Incorporating items like black pipe cleaners, yarn strands, or even thin strips of felt can give the Minion's hair a playful and textured appearance.
Layering multiple rings of cardstock or using foam circles can create a raised, dimensional look for the goggles, enhancing the puppet's visual appeal.
Adjusting the placement of the mouth, eyebrows, and eyes allows for a range of emotions—from mischievous grins to surprised looks—adding character to each puppet.
By changing the color scheme or adding themed accessories like Santa hats or bunny ears, the Minion puppet can be customized to fit various occasions throughout the year.
