Seriously, one thing I love about my Instant Pot is that I can make something as simple as Mac and Cheese and turn it into a dish fit for the queen (kind of). Okay maybe the queen wouldn’t eat it, but the kids will love it! And trust me, I am the queen of easy gourmet food in my home!

What You Need for Gourmet Mac and Cheese

  • You will need 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 green bell pepper, diced
  • 1 yellow onion, diced
  • 3 cups dry elbow noodles
  • 3 ¼ cup water
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon dry mustard
  • ¼ teaspoon pepper
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 3 ounces cream cheese
  • ¾ cup milk
  • 3 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded

How to Make Mac and Cheese Gourmet Style

  1. First, on saute mode, cook the onions, bell pepper and ground beef until the ground beef has browned.
  2. Then, drain the grease.
  3. Next, return to the inner pot.

4. When the meat is finished, you will combine the next 6 ingredients on top of the ground beef mixture in the inner pot.

5. Before you close the lid, make sure noodles are all submerged in liquid.

Cook the noodles

6. Close the instant pot lid and turn pressure valve to seal.

7.Cook on manual high pressure for 4 minutes.

Add cheese

8. Allow for a quick pressure release.

9. Then add in the remaining ingredients, stirring in the cream cheese and cheddar cheese to melt with the pasta.

10. Simultaneously adding in the milk a little at a time.

Instructions
