Are you a fan of the Disney movie Cars? I first recall watching the Cars movie as an early years teacher. One of the 3-year-old boys I looked after was crazy about Lightening McQueen.
I really enjoyed the movie and so did my daughter when I introduced the Cars series to her. Today on the blog we are sharing a Disney Cars Inspired crispy treat.
This would be a great treat to take to the movie or have at a Cars themed party. I hope you like the tutorial.

🥚What You Will Need for These Disney Treats

- M&M’s
- Gum, white small rectangles
- Two Airheads packets, white mystery flavour individual size
For the complete list of ingredients with measurements and instructions, please see the recipe card at the bottom of the post.
🌈 Substitutions and Variations
- Flavor Twist: Use Cocoa Pebbles or Fruity Pebbles cereal instead of Rice Krispies for a unique taste and color.
- Color Play: Customize your treats by using different colored candy melts to represent various Cars characters.
- Wheel Options: If mini Oreos aren't available, consider using Rolos, chocolate buttons, or pretzel rounds for the wheels.
🔪Let's Make It
Lay 3 whole Rice Crispy Treats on a parchment lined baking sheet.
Cut another one into a half piece treat and two others into third-size treats and lay each on the tray with the whole treats.
You now have 3 sets of treats.
In 3 separate bowls, melt each coloUr of chocolate.
Heat for 30 seconds at a time, stirring between times, until completely melted.
Dip the first set of treats that has a whole piece and the half piece into the brown chocolate, completely coat.
This set will be Mater.
Set the smaller piece on top of the whole piece to resemble a car windshield.
Repeat this step with each of the other sets and each colour of chocolate. These will be Lightening McQueen and Luigi.
Using the Airheads candy, cut 3 windshields to fit onto the cars. I made mine rectangle with little cut outs at the top to resemble the Cars characters. Press these on each car.
Cut a mouth out of the candy for the red and yellow car. Press this on the bottom piece of the car where the bumper would be.
Pull apart the Oreo cookies, and press 4 on each car. Use green, blue, and brown M&M’s for the eyes. Put a dab of melted chocolate on the backs and press on the windshields.
On the brown truck, put a line of chocolate on the bottom piece and place 2 gum teeth where the bumper would be.
Extra optional steps are: pipe a line of chocolate on the yellow car over his mouth to resemble a moustache. Use an edible marker to put black dots on the eyes.
👩🍳 Expert Tips
- Use Rice Krispies Treats as the base for your cars. Cut them into various sizes to create different characters like Lightning McQueen, Mater, and Luigi.
- Melt colored candy melts (red, yellow, and brown) to coat the Rice Krispies shapes, giving each character its signature color.
- Decorate with mini Oreo wheels, Airheads for windshields, and M&M's for eyes to bring your edible cars to life.
💭 FAQs
Absolutely! Homemade treats work just as well and can add a personal touch to your creations.
Melt them in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until smooth. If needed, add a tiny bit of vegetable oil to thin them out.
Yes, you can use fondant or any pliable candy that can be cut into shapes. Just ensure it sticks well to the chocolate coating.
