A Wortley Hall Wedding
Today I’m sharing my visit to Wortley Hall for my best friend’s wedding. The past few months have been incredibly difficult for me due to lots of health complications. I have had moments where I’ve felt down. I have felt sad, anxious and despair. It can be really hard living with chronic illness especially when it means I don’t get to leave the home much.
In fact the past two months I have been so limited. I’ve struggled to go anywhere including the doctors and hospital and it’s been so so hard for me. I began suffering from anxiety due to stress and feeling overwhelmed. I cut back on blog work and decided to just take time out.
I’ve struggled with Adrenal Insufficiency and the usual chronic symptoms I have but I’ve also struggled with other issues including severe tooth ache which required multiple root canal procedures. I’ve had Flu, a chest infection, skin infections, asthma, hayfever and more recently struggled with Summer Heat and the smoke from the Lancashire fire on Winter Hill.
It really has been tough for me. However I was fortunate to attend my best friends wedding last weekend at Wortley Hall and I had a lovely time.
My best friend was born on the same day as me in the same town in the same hospital which we always find quite Ironic. We travelled to Barnsley the day before the Wedding to help make the journey to Wortley Hall easier.
I was so happy because we got to see my Nanan Sylvia who I named my daughter after. My Nanan Sylvia Meigh lives in Worsborough and it was lovely to have a visit and catch up after 18 months. Nanan is not too well and I know just how hard it can be to be housebound most of the time.
We stayed at the Premier Inn which was lovely. I do like the Premier Inn and find it affordable for us as a family. On Saturday morning Sylvia and I had a Premier Inn Breakfast and it was very good. We had plenty of energy to prepare for the day. We spent the morning getting ready for the Wedding and then travelled to Wortley Hall for the special day.
The Wedding was brilliant. I loved every aspect of it. The venue was amazing and the bride, Rebecca looked stunning. We had such a lovely day, took part in photos, had a fantastic meal and enjoyed every minute. Sylvia loved the dancing in the evening.
I loved the meals, the food was absolutely gorgeous and the kids had a fun pack with bubbles which Sylvia absolutely loved.
After the meal I went back to the Premier Inn to have a sleep and rest as I was quite worn out. We then went back to Wortley Hall in the evening for evening dance with a buffet, the cutting of the cake and enjoyed chatting with friends, the bride and groom.
I really loved the Wedding. It was awesome to be able to attend and witness my Best Friend on her Wedding Day. I loved every moment and was super pleased with my husband’s photos. He did an amazing job. Well I think so anyway.
I loved getting to hold Erin my best friends daughter. It was my first time to meet her and the best part was when the Groom gave his speech and announced to all that Rebecca is pregnant with her second child. That was a lovely surprise.
I loved the Wedding at Wortley Hall. It was a fantastic venue, the theme and colours of the Wedding was fantastic and it was so worth the visit.
The day after the wedding we returned home to Lancashire and I have been resting to recover.
I don’t often go to weddings but this was amazing and we had a wonderful time. I loved every moment.
I’m doing well and managed to go to Sylvia’s school play this week which is fantastic. I loved the Wortley Hall Wedding and I loved seeing my best friend and her husband on their special day. It was awesome.
I will be staying home for the week to rebuild my strength but I enjoyed every minute of the wedding and l loved it!
