DIY Ocean Craft For Kids Blue Whale Crab And Fish

Today I am so excited to be sharing this DIY Ocean craft. We have a blue whale, a crab and a fish made from wooden eggs.

This is a great art activity for kids in the classroom or preschool setting or as a homeschool activity. If your studying a ocean unit you will love this crafty idea or why not make these eggs as a Summer holiday project. Enjoy!

Supplies for your ocean craft

Wooden or Paper Mache Eggs
Acrylic Paint
Paintbrush
Cardstock
Hot Glue
Pencil
Black Paint Pen or Permanent Marker
Scissors

I am sure you’re going to love this Ocean themed craft!

Let’s Make It

Paint the wooden eggs. You will need to give each egg 2-3 coats of paint. Allow the paint to dry completely.

Download the template and print out. Cut the template out and trace onto cardstock. Cut each piece out.

Let’s Make The Blue Whale

Paint the belly of the whale white. Allow the paint to dry completely. Glue the cardstock fins and tail onto the whale.

Use a pencil to draw eyes onto the whale. Once you are satisfied with how they look, trace over the pencil with black marker or a black paint pen.


Trace the white belly with black marker or a black paint pen. Add lines across the white belly.


Draw a smile on the front of the whale with black marker or a black paint pen

Let’s Make The Crab

Glue the eyes, cardstock claws and feet onto the crab.


Use a pencil to draw eyes onto the crab. Once you are satisfied with how they look, trace over the pencil with black marker or a black paint pen.


Draw a smile on the front of the crab with black marker or a black paint pen.

Let’s Make The Fish

Glue the cardstock fins and tail onto the fish.


Use a pencil to draw eyes onto the fish. Once you are satisfied with how they look, trace over the pencil with black marker or a black paint pen.


Use a black paint pen or marker to add detail to the fins and tail.

Draw scales on the body of the fish with black marker or a black paint pen. Draw a smile on the front of the fish with black marker or a black paint pen.

Your all done!

These egg Ocean sea creatures look amazing.
