This Uncle Sam Patriotic Craft is a great way for the kids to be creative! Use this for a fun red, white, and blue craft or a fun idea for the 4th of July. If the kids eat a ton of popsicles, save them and you’re all set!

Uncle Sam Patriotic Craft

Popsicle crafts are the best. This is a great once to do during the summer months or when you’re just feeling patriotic. Simple supplies mean a simple activity that the kids will surely love. 

Best way to display this patriotic popsicle craft 

You have options when it comes to showcasing this craft! You can easily set it on a shelf, hang it on the wall, or have fun and display it wherever you want. 

Supplies needed for this Uncle Sam Craft 

  • Paper plate 
  • Acrylic paint (red, white, blue) 
  • Paintbrush 
  • 10 Popsicle sticks 
  • Foam sheet (blue, yellow pink) 
  • Scissor 
  • Glue gun & stick 
  • Pair of googly eyes

How To Make this Patriotic popsicle craft 

Step 1: Paint the popsicle sticks (3) red, (3) white, and (2) blue. Leave a little space and let it dry.

Step 2: Cut both the curve parts of the remaining two popsicle sticks. 

Step 3: Arrange the popsicle sticks alternately in color. (red, white, red, white

Step 4: Then glue the two cut popsicle sticks at the back, for them to stick together.

Step 5: Add the pair of googly eyes and cut the nose in the space that is not painted. 

Step 6: Get the paper plate and cut it in half, take the other half then cut another half circle and curve the edges, forming a letter C. 

Step 7: Align them together, the popsicle sticks above, the blue popsicles in the middle, and the paper plate below them, and glue them using the glue gun. 

Step 8: Get the other half of the paper plate and cut the shape of a beard.

Step 9: Cut 3-star shapes out of the yellow foam sheets. 

Step 10: Glue the stars on the blue popsicle sticks.

Tips For Making This Uncle Sam Craft: 

You need to let the glue dry and make sure that it’s glued correctly or this craft isn’t going to hold together well. (be careful if the kids are using the scissors and glue!)

You may have to do two coats of the paint if you want it to be darker. Just let the first coat dry and then you can add a second. 

Last, but not least – let the kids have fun and change up the look! While the paint colors are important for patriotic fun, they can easily make little changes to make it all their own. 

If you have enough supplies to let them make more, go for it! You can never have too much craft time!
