When I was a University student I spent a summer teaching children to read and write. In fact I specialised in teaching kids with learning difficulties and took part in a summer training program that really made a difference to the children we worked with.

It’s been over 15 years yet I still remember the two little kids I worked with. They will be grown adults now but giving them the tools to learn the Alphabet and build upon their knowledge was a crucial stage in their developmental journey and I sometimes wonder how these kids did in life.
