🌈 Substitutions and Variations
- Brownie Base: Use your favorite homemade brownie recipe or opt for gluten-free brownie mix to accommodate dietary preferences.
- Icing Colors: Replace gel food coloring with natural alternatives like beet juice for red or turmeric for yellow, keeping in mind that colors may vary.
- Belt Design: Use black licorice strips for the belt or pipe the belt directly onto the brownies using black icing.
🔪Decorating Your Santa Christmas Brownies
Using a standing mixer, combine the egg whites, powder sugar, vanilla, and cream of tarter and mix until stiff peaks form.
Split the icing into three bowls
Add a little bit of food colouring into each bowl. One colour per bowl.
Scoop a little bit of the red icing into one piping bag with a number 2 tip and the black icing into the second number 2 tip and the yellow icing into the third piping bag with number 2 tip.
Add 3 tablespoon water into the remaining red icing and mix until combined.
Pour icing into the squeeze bottle
Santa Brownie Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees
Follow the directions on the back of the brownie box to make the brownies.
Once baked, let cool on a wire rack until cooled to room temperature.
Once cooled, slide brownies out of pan and cut into bars
Flip brownies upside down so that you can pipe icing on the smooth side.
Using the black icing, pipe the belt in the middle of the brownies and fill in
Using the red icing, pipe the top and bottom part and fill in with the thinner red icing in the squeeze bottle.
Using the yellow icing, pipe on the belt buckle
Let dry for an hour before enjoying.

💖 Serving Suggestions
These are my favorite treats to serve with Santa Belt Brownies:
- Peppermint Bark: Layered white and dark chocolate sprinkled with crushed peppermint candies adds a refreshing minty flavor that complements the rich brownies.
- Mini Cheesecakes: Individual cheesecakes topped with berry compote offer a creamy contrast to the brownies' density.
- Hot Chocolate Bar: Provide a selection of hot chocolates with whipped cream, marshmallows, and peppermint sticks to enhance the festive atmosphere.
