If you love dogs as much as I do, you’ll know they are never “just pets”. They are family members, little shadows and fluffy bundles of personality who somehow end up running the house. My bichons, Alfie and Kokimo, certainly have a special place in my heart. There’s something wonderful about loving a dog so much that even their cheekiest moments become stories you want to share.
That’s what makes My Furry Prints such a fun idea. The service turns an everyday photo of your dog or cat into personalised artwork, placing them in scenes that imagine what they might get up to if they were a little more human. Think morning coffee, midnight fridge raids and a very serious newspaper session on the toilet. Honestly, the possibilities make me giggle!
A Pet Portrait With a Little More Personality
A lovely photograph of your dog will always be precious. However, there’s also room for artwork that celebrates the funny little character behind those puppy-dog eyes.
My Furry Prints offers more than 20 themes, from playful bathroom scenes to royal portraits, watercolour styles and pencil sketches. Rather than choosing something simply because it looks pretty, you can pick a scene that reminds you of your pet.
Is yours a snack enthusiast? A tiny royal who expects the best seat? Or someone who looks thoroughly offended when the household gets up too early? There’s plenty of inspiration here.
Before and After: From Pet Photo to Bathroom Scroller
The before-and-after image of a dog scrolling on a phone while sitting on the toilet is such a funny example of the transformation.
You start with an ordinary pet photograph, then suddenly that familiar little face belongs to someone who apparently needs five more minutes in the bathroom. We all know a human like that!
The theme is called Bathroom Scroll, and I can imagine it making visitors do a double take. It’s playful, unexpected and a lovely way to bring your dog’s face into your home without choosing another traditional portrait.
The Cat Who Came for a Midnight Snack
Although I’m very much a dog-loving mum, I couldn’t leave out the cat getting into the fridge.
The Midnight Snack theme imagines your pet caught during a late-night raid, complete with the sort of innocent expression that suggests they have absolutely no idea how they got there.
There’s something wonderfully familiar about the idea. Anyone who shares a home with an animal knows that food can suddenly become everyone’s business!
This scene would be especially fun for a pet whose personality seems to revolve around the possibility of another snack. I can picture it brightening up a kitchen wall.
Morning Coffee With Your Favourite Dog
The dog having morning coffee might be my favourite concept for a cosy corner of the house.
The Morning Coffee theme features your pet enjoying a mug in a dressing gown. It has that lovely “please let me wake up first” feeling that plenty of busy mums will understand.
There’s something so amusing about seeing a dog taking a quiet moment before the day begins. If Alfie or Kokimo could join me for a proper morning chat, I’d happily pull up another chair. Their contribution might mostly involve breakfast requests, but I’d still enjoy the company!
A Newspaper, a Toilet and Absolutely No Hurry
Then there’s Bathroom Times, featuring a pet reading the newspaper on the toilet.
It’s wonderfully silly, and sometimes that’s exactly what a home needs. Decorating doesn’t always have to be serious. A picture that makes you smile every morning earns its place just as much as a carefully coordinated accessory.
For a downstairs loo or family bathroom, this could be a brilliant little conversation starter. There’s something about that serious newspaper-reading pose on a dog that makes the whole scene even funnier.
From Digital Artwork to Mugs and Canvases
The artwork is available in several formats, including digital downloads, mugs, fine-art paper prints, framed prints and canvases.
That gives you different ways to enjoy the same idea. A mug could make someone smile during their tea break, while a canvas could give a favourite pet a starring role on the wall.
The process sounds straightforward: upload one everyday photograph, choose your theme and see a free preview before paying. According to the information supplied by My Furry Prints, the preview takes about a minute.
A Gift That Feels Personal
For someone who adores their dog or cat, a personalised portrait could make a thoughtful birthday, Christmas or housewarming gift.
What appeals to me is the combination of affection and humour. You’re celebrating a much-loved family member and the personality that makes them special.
Whether it’s a coffee-drinking bichon or a fridge-raiding cat, I love the idea of turning those familiar little characters into artwork that makes a house feel more like home.
