10 Health Benefits of Gastric Bypass Surgery
Gastric bypass surgery is a procedure designed to help people suffering from obesity. It’s only used in serious cases when diet and exercise isn’t enough to help you lose weight and keep it off. Obesity can cause serious medical conditions such as diabetes, stroke and heart disease, which is why losing weight is so imperative. However, conventional methods of losing weight don’t always work for everyone and that’s when this medical procedure is considered.
Here are ten health benefits of gastric bypass surgery:
Improves your chances of successfully maintaining long term weight loss.
Reduces your risks or improves symptoms for type 2 diabetes along with high blood pressure, heart disease and stroke.
Reduces your risks for developing non-alcoholic fatty liver disease or slows down it progression.
Helps to increase energy levels by increasing mobility.
Relieves depression associated with low self-esteem associated with being overweight.
Relieves symptoms caused by GERD or gastroesophageal reflux disease.
Reduces the risks of developing sleep apnea associated with obesity.
Reduces your risks for varicose veins and joint pain caused by excessive weight.
Improves self-esteem by improving self-image and helping you feel better about the way you look.
Reduces the risk of certain types of cancers such as colon, kidney, uterine and breast cancer.
All of the benefits associated with gastric bypass surgery can greatly improve your overall health and increase longevity. It has the potential to change your life and help you get on the right track to living a happy, healthy life.

Wow! Gastric bypass surgery seems like a win for the person getting it. Surgery in itself can be very difficult, but this one looks promising. The only thing that has to change is the mentality about food. One of my friends had the surgery and she gained it all back.
That’s not good to hear. it is a tool to support you, not a quick fix and yes it is about changing your habits just as much as the operation.
Wowzers! Gastric bypass surgery is no joke! People need so much support to go through all this stuff and changing eating habbits. But whatever works, it’s all good to me!
it is a huge thing. I went through it and it is just as much psychological and the physical.
I have a friend booked in for this surgery and have forwarded her your post for inspiration 🙂
