Wash and dice the potatoes, leaving the skins on. Add them to the Instant Pot along with one cup of water.
Place the lid on the Instant Pot and set the valve to the sealed position. Press the pressure cook or manual button and set the timer to 5 minutes.
Once the Instant Pot stops counting, release the pressure and remove the lid. Add in margarine or butter, salt, and pepper. Mash well with a potato masher until smooth.
