Spice up your game day with these Instant Pot Chicken Wings smothered in Jalapeño Jelly BBQ sauce! Tender, juicy wings with a sweet and spicy kick, ready in no time for the ultimate crowd-pleaser!
Turn your Instant Pot to saute and had the canola oil.
Add your chicken wings in one layer to your inner pot. Saute turning every 3-4 minutes. Once the chicken is light golden brown, remove wings from the Instant Pot and hit cancel.
You do NOT want your chicken wings fully cooked. You are just adding a crisp and crunchy texture to the chicken.
Deglaze your inner pot and scrape any food that is stuck to the bottom of the insert.
In a large mixing bowl add all the sauce ingredients and stir to combine. Gently toss your chicken wings in the BBQ jalapeno sauce.
Add your sauteed chicken wings to the Instant Pot, and pour over half the bbq sauce (or half the buffalo sauce if using hot sauce instead).
Close the lid of your Instant Pot, turn the valve to the sealing position and set the manual button to pressure cook for 8 minutes on high pressure.
Perform a quick pressure release on the Instant Pot.
To broil your cooked chicken wings, place them on a prepared baking sheet lined with aluminum foil. use the remaining sauce to baste the wings.
Broil chicken wings in the oven on high for 5 minutes to allow the bbq to caramelize.
Turn the wings over, baste and then broil for another 2 minutes. If you have an Instant Pot Air Fryer lid then you can air fry the wings for 5 minutes instead of broiling.
Remove your cooked wings and place them on a platter. You can now garnish and serve your cooked wings with your favorite dipping sauce.
Notes
Broil: Be sure to broil the wings at the end to get a crispy chicken skin. You can also use the Instant Pot air fryer lid if you happen yo have one.
