Easy Spring Paper Flower Craft for Kids

Materials

  • Construction Paper
  • Scissors
  • Pipe Cleaners
  • Clear Tape
  • Glue Stick

Instructions

  • Cut paper into strips. Strips should be about ½ – ¾ of an inch wide. You'll need about ten strips total.
  • Using your glue stick, apply glue to a strip of paper about ½ an inch from the bottom of the strip.
  • Using your scissors, (regular or fun shaped scissors) cut out a circle that is about 1 ½ inches wide.
  • Fold other ends of the strip over (without pressing it flat) to create a loop and press the end of the paper strip directly to the glue leaving a ½ inch “flap” at the bottom of your loop. Repeat until you have about 10 loops.
  • This circle will be the middle of your flower. Next, apply glue to the “flap” of your loop and press it to your circle.
  • Repeat all the way around your circle. Once your flower has all of its petals, you're ready to attach your stem (pipe cleaner)!
  • Place your pipe cleaner on the side of your flower where you glued your loops.
  • Using clear, scotch tape, attach your pipe cleaner. TA-DA! You've made your very first flower! You can mix and match your petal colours or choose a solid colour. Create one or as many as you'd like and put together a beautiful bouquet!
