Dr. Seuss Bookmark Craft
Turn a Cat in the Hat template into a bookmark that’s both whimsical and fun for kids to make.

Materials
- Cardstock
- Crayons or Markers
- Hole Punch
- Thread Any Color Thread You Choose
- Scissors
- Printer For Printing All Our Fantastic Printables
Instructions
- Download and print out the bookmarks.
- Color the bookmarks with crayons or marker.
- Cut the bookmarks out and hole punch the hole at the top.
- Fold a piece of cardstock in half and then over until it’s been folded four times total.
- Wrap thread around the cardstock until your desired thickness has been reached.
- Forty times seems to work perfectly.
- Carefully slide the thread off the cardstock and do not allow it to close together. Keep the loop open. Cut the thread from the spool.
- Gently slide thread through the loop and leave it hanging.
- Cut a long piece of thread and start wrapping it around the top as you see in photo. Secure by tying a knot. Trim off the excess thread.
- Take your scissors and slide them into the middle of the loop and cut the bottom of the loop to create a tassel.
- Tie a knot into the piece of thread you left hanging and then loop it through the hole in the bookmark.
