Paint the entire front of the paper plate with the flesh-colored paint.
Set aside for 30 minutes to dry.
From the white piece of construction paper, cut out the 2 oval eyes, approximately 2 ½ inches long by 1 ¾ inches wide. Set aside.
From the black construction paper, cut out 2 eyebrows that are about 1 ½ inches across.
Cut out 2 pupils for the eyes, approximately 1 inch long.
Set aside the black paper for later use.
Apply glue to the back of the eyebrows and place in the middle of the paper plate, up at the top.
With a glue stick, glue the pupils onto the white eyes, towards the inner bottom of each eye.
Apply glue to the back of each eye and place directly under the eyebrows.
With the yellow construction paper, cut out a 2 inch diameter circle for the nose.
Apply to the back of the nose and place on the , directly under the eyes. glueplate
Set aside the remaining yellow paper for later.
From the leftover black construction paper, cut out 2 thin strips for the clock hands.
Strip #1 should be about 2 inches long and strip #2 about 1 ½ inches long.
Apply glue to the back of the longer strip hand.Place on the plate with one end touching the bottom left side of the nose, pointing to the 7 o’clock position.
Apply glue to the shorter clock hand.
Place on the plate with one end touching the bottom right side of the nose, pointing to the 4 o’clock position.
With the , draw an arrow tip at the end of each clock hand. Draw an arrow tip at the 3 o’clock and 9 o’clock positions.
Cut out a 1 ½ inch diameter circle for the mouth from the red construction paper.
Apply glue to the back of the mouth and place it on the paper plate towards the bottom of the plate, in between the clock hands.
Also, from the red construction paper, cut out a shape (4 ½ inches long and 2 ½ inches wide) that resembles a sombrero hat.
Cut out the same shape, only smaller, from the yellow paper.
Turn the “hats” upside down and glue the small yellow one on top of the red one.
Apply glue to the back of the red piece and place it at the bottom of the plate, directly in the middle.
Cut out 3 oval shapes (one large and two small) from the leftover yellow construction paper.
Make the large one 3 inches long and the two small ovals 2 inches long.
Cut off one end of each piece so that it’s flat.
Glue the large piece up at the top of the plate, directly in the middle with the flat side on the bottom.
Glue the smaller pieces on each side of the large one with the flat sides on the bottom.
With the single hole punch, punch a hole at the top of the paper plate, on each side of the small yellow ovals.
Thread the red pipe cleaner from the back of the plate and through both holes.
Pull the pipe cleaner until it rests on top of the 2 small oval shapes.
Bend about an inch of both ends of the pipe cleaner several times. Apply glue to the back of each end and press against the paper plate.
