These Autumn Caramel Apple Cookies are a delicious fall favorite! Soft, chewy, and packed with caramel and fresh apple flavor, they’re the perfect treat for cozy afternoons or fall gatherings. Easy to make and full of seasonal warmth, these cookies are sure to be a hit!
Prep the Dry Ingredients: Prepare all ingredients. Whisk flour, baking powder and salt in a large bowl.
Prep the Cream Butter Mixture: Beat butter, sugar, egg and vanilla using an electric mixer or a stand mixer until light and fluffy.
Combine Both: Mix both masses and knead the dough
Make Dough Balls: Mix everything for the topping. Roll the dough into balls and roll in the mixture.
Chill and Bake: Make a small indentation in the center and cool the dough ball well for about 2-3 hours. Bake at 350 F degrees for about 12 minutes.
Add Caramel and Bake Again: Add caramel to the recess and place in the oven for another 5 minutes. Wait until the caramel hardens.
Notes
If you don't have baking powder, you can also make do with baking soda. Just remember that the texture of the cookies will turn out slightly different when you use baking soda.
Remember not to overmix the flour baking soda mixture with the wet ingredients. You want to mix everything just until it is well combined.
Also keep in mind to line your baking sheets with parchment paper before you arrange the cookie dough balls on them.
Allowing the cookie dough ball to chill for a while in the refrigerator helps them firm up and hold their shape even after they have been baked.
To do this, I like to line a baking sheet with parchment paper and then add the dough balls on the prepared baking sheets.
To get the perfect soft caramel apple cookies, bake the cookies until they are lightly golden brown and not overdone.
