Yvonne Coomber Art For My Birthday
Today I turn 35. I feel both happy, grateful and sad. I am happy I am another year older. I am grateful for my life, my family and my friends. I am sad that I am so young and have spent the past 5 years seriously unwell. Looking back at my life I know I have achieved a lot and overcome a lot. I am a survivor of serious abuse and two divorces. I have two University degrees. I have a wonderful family, parents, siblings, husband and child. I have two adorable but naughty dogs Yoda and Casper. I have a successful and wonderful blog, The Inspiration Edit and I suffer from Adrenal failure and Hypopituitarism which makes me unwell most of the time. I am a Mother, which is the best role I could ever ask for and for which I will be eternally grateful
I have travelled to many countries in the world, spent my teenage and young adult life in New Zealand, I lived in the Pacific Island of Tonga, completed my bucket list visiting Europe and many art museums. I’ve seen the Mona Lisa and taken my child to visit Van Gogh’s Art in Paris. In 2015, I won the MumpreneurUK voice award and I’ve even bungee jumped of the Auckland Harbour Bridge. My life has been full of ups and downs, losses and heartache, happiness and joy.
My birthday is a time of hope for me. I am hoping to achieve a lot this year. I am hoping to improve my health and get my private treatment which is not available on the NHS funded. That would really help our family financially. Medicine and treatment can be a huge burden on the family and we are working really hard to try and cover the monthly costs. It really has been tough.
I hope to give my daughter more time this year. I plan to encourage her with her talents. She is a budding artist in the making. I hope to become an aspiring artist in my own right with my bottle paint work. I’ve just created an instagram account to showcase my work and I hope to eventually create and sell a book of my designs. My Instagram name is The Milk Bottle Artist, I think it is pretty cool.
This week after two years I completed my first children’s book which I plan to launch in 2018. I don’t know how I will do this yet but I am determined to do it. I am super excited and hope it can be a success. I do have things to look forward to amongst the sickness and struggles of daily chronic illness. I have so much to be grateful for, goals to achieve and Motherhood to enjoy.
For my birthday my husband bought me a set of drawers for all my crafts and art supplies. I am slowly building a collection of supplies. John ordered Posca Pens for my art and bought me quite a few milk bottles. I am super excited. Even more exciting is the fact that I received the most amazing gift today. It arrived at 8am in the morning on my birthday and was the best surprise ever. My gift was a beautiful print created by the artist Yvonne Coomber.
Yvonne Coomber is a British contemporary artist based in South Devon who has a loyal global following. Yvonne’s highly sought-after flowerscape paintings sing of tumbling hedgerows, tangled meadowlands, open moorland and magical forests. They whisper of love and through her work Yvonne transports the viewer to an effervescent place of happiness; a place where paint smiles.
Yvonne’s paintings are beautiful and I was so blessed to receive my own piece of Art called “Kiss”. Yvonnes mixed media constructions often include glitter, gold leaf and multiple layers of rainbow-strewn glazes where paint comes together to create a perfect harmony. Her unique technique encourages her delicate yet sprightly florals to be catapulted up from the canvas in a kaleidoscopic confetti shower of joy. Yvonne’s work is a constant pursuit for beauty and happiness.
Receiving my own art work personally signed by Yvonne Coomber is mindblowing. I am so so excited. This is going to be framed and placed on my wall as a reminder to me to continue to be grateful, to have hope and be happy. The colourful piece of contemporary art is stunning and will really light up my room and my heart whenever I see it.
Yvonne is an inspiration to me as an aspiring artist on my own path of discovery and each day I will look at her art on my wall and remind myself of the goals and dreams I have, of the things I am grateful for and to never give up hope no matter how hard things get.
Thankyou Yvonne for making my birthday special. I am ever so grateful and excited.
*I was gifted the art work by Yvonne Coomber. No payment was made in writing this piece and all opinions are my own.
