Wordsworth Timeless Children’s Collection

This year I have been making a greater effort to encourage my daughter Sylvia to read. I have to be honest, as much as we love reading books together, we became a little slack at reading this year, due to my health conditions and due to being continuously unwell with Adrenal Insufficiency.

I recently made some plans and set some new goals to encourage my daughter to read on her own on the days I am unwell. Sylvia is ten now and capable of doing this.

However when I went through Sylvia’s bookshelf as I decluttered her bedroom in the October half term, I realised that my daughter really doesn’t have many age appropriate books. Most of Sylvia’s books are for a younger audience.

Little did I know I was about to receive a fantastic press release in my inbox introducing me to the new Wordsworth Cloth-bound collectors editions of 12 timeless children’s classics.

I was so excited. Not only did these books sound amazing, they have beautiful bespoke cover illustrations, gorgeous coloured blocking and embossed gold.

I instantly fell in love with the look of these amazing children’s classic books and even more so when I read the titles.

Wordsworth Edition Books For Christmas

I knew this was a collection I would love to gift Sylvia for Christmas and it really was perfect timing as I am in the process of finding gifts for my daughter she can treasure. I don’t want to buy tat and toys that can break in a few weeks. I really want to give her quality Christmas gifts to last a long time.

Sylvia is at an age where she will treasure this Wordsworth children’s collection and enjoy reading and discovering these wonderful stories.

I was so excited when Wordsworth agreed to send out all 12 of these fantastic cloth-bound collectors editions and could not wait to tell my husband John. Sylvia will have to wait a little longer as she will be receiving these books as a Christmas Advent idea. I think it’s the perfect Christmas gift for my daughter.

I’ll be wrapping each book individually and Sylvia can open one every morning in the twelve days leading up to Christmas. It’s such a fab idea and something I know she will love.

I’m also getting Sylvia her very own Keyboard for Christmas this year and that will be the big gift which will be hidden until Christmas morning so she doesn’t guess what it is.

Wordsworth Collectible And Timeless Children’s Classics

The Wordsworth timeless children’s collection includes the following books:

  • Little Women – Louisa May Alcott
  • Peter Pan – J.M. Barrie
  • The Secret Garden – E.H. Burnett
  • Alice in Wonderland – Lewis Carroll

  • The Wind in the Willows – Kenneth Grahame

  • Anne of Green Gables – Lucy Montgomery
  • The Railway Children – Edith Nesbitt
  • The Little Prince – Antoine de Saint-Exupery

That is a great collection of children’s books. I love Black Beauty and the Little Prince. Although my grandchildren are still too young for these classics, I will still get these for them to enjoy when they are a bit older.

What a beautiful set of books! I love the covers on these classics. They really draw the eye in and probably that encourages children to read more. I’m going to have to pick up a set for my niece for the holidays. I think this looks like a must have collection for any child!

Thank you for making this post! I have not been able to find any reviews of these on YouTube or anywhere else. I bought the Puffin in Bloom set for my niece but was disappointed to found out they completely changed the story of Heidi and the names as well. I will definitely be buying these, and finding out they are family owned company makes me want to support them even more. Thank you again!
