We all have hopes and dreams that drive us forward like visions of life that we wish to achieve one day, and they can make harsh reality bearable or sometimes even come true.
If you ask successful people what an American dream means, you will get many distinct answers, because it’s different strokes for different folks.
Some dream about getting rich, others crave for fame and power, or maybe just a successful career including happy family life.
Success comes in many forms plus the American dream has become a synonym for eternal happiness and fulfilling accomplishment that everybody craves. Is it just a great marketing trick coming from the dream factory in Hollywood or is it a realistic and attainable goal?

1.The land of dreams
Walt Disney was just another young artist who dreamed about drawing cartoons and he rose to become one of the most recognizable names in history. His life and achievements made him one of the richest too but creating another world from imagination was his way of livin the
American dream while making more than 100 billion dollars. He did what he loved so for him that was the biggest reward which was only validated by the global success of his company. We cannot imagine our childhood without all those loving characters that he created and that is quite a legacy that will never be erased.
Creating something so eternal and visionary is what we all fantasize about so some of us who believe in our talent and determination will always follow the footsteps of Mr. Disney as our role model.
2. The dream factory
Some say that this myth about the American dream was created in movie studios of Los Angeles and millions of young people rush to this new promised land every year, searching for fame or fortune in the film industry.
There is more than one example of previously unknown actors reaching that superstar status with everything that goes along with that. It is a classic from rags to riches story that we all fantasize about and many try to emulate it like a proven recipe for success.
Names like Tom Cruz, Mel Gibson, or any other figure from the glittery world of show business will testify that sometimes dreams actually come true.
You could be writing an essay about successful careers in this field but for every success story, there are dozen of wannabe stories that just didn’t work out proving the old Per Aspera ad Astra saying.
3. Corporate world
All college students who do not have show business aspirations are probably dreaming about becoming successful CEOs or entrepreneurs like Jeff Bezos or Bill Gates, and some of them surely will. Today’s economy is a fertile ground for realizing this kind of American dream as the capitalist system simply demands new and fresh ideas to keep it going forward.
One could write a bunch of argumentative essays on American dream with more than one example of young entrepreneurs who made their dreams into reality.
Visionary leaders like Henry Ford, Thomas Edison, or Andrew Carnegie rose to prominence with their ideas and a fearless pursuit for their vision.
If you read an essay about these guys, their success might seem effortless which is one misleading observation that persists as a part of the American dream allure, that it is just waiting for us right around every corner.
4. Those little things
Fame, power, and fortune do not appeal to many who are just looking for a way to live one peaceful and happy life. Ask yourself what is your American dream and you might be surprised to realize that what you need is fairly modest compared with grandiose plans that many fantasize about.
The life standard or the quality of life in the USA is one of the best in the world so for those who grew up in poverty, some real American dream is more about living in a safe and peaceful community where one can raise his family.
It’s about having a nice comfortable house with some big backyard, a nice car, and a high paying job. It is not a bad idea plus it is very feasible these days as our quality of life continues to rise along with our desires and expectations.
5. Settlers
Remember that a large part of the original American settlers fled Europe because they wanted to be free in their religious practices.
After all, back then, England and other European states were standing for the idea of uniformity of religion, which meant that any sort of deviation from an established norm could lead to severe consequences.
That’s the reason why one of the original American dreams was a freedom of religion!
Nonetheless, Europe learned the lesson, and some countries abolished the concept of uniformity of religion, meaning that people from different branches of Christianity were allowed to freely follow their religious practices. This shift has led to lots of positive changes, especially in regards to Black Christians in the UK.
For example, the ability to follow one’s specific beliefs provided Black Christians some great opportunities to build their own community in the UK, especially due to the fact that the majority of the population was fine with the very idea of Black majority churches.
As a result, we are now experiencing a boom among the numbers of Black Christians in the country, and there’s no need to move across an ocean just to be free in your beliefs.
That is one of the examples of how some original American dreams are able to affect things outside their place of origin!
The American dream is a concept that originated in the United States, but it can be applied in other countries as well. Opportunities are around us, and religious freedom is a prime example of this statement.
Conclusion
Do not give us your dreams under any circumstances as they shape our future plus the future of those who will come after us. We need to create a legacy of examples that prove how dreams are reachable and possible so that we continue to prosper as a species.
The American dream is not just some marketing slogan, it is a real thing whether one wishes to become an online entrepreneur or a rock star.
Follow your heart and maybe one day some young kid will be writing an essay about you as his role model that inspired him to chase his dreams. Just do not forget that reaching those dreams requires a lot of work plus dedication no matter how effortless it seems on a Hollywood screen.
That is a director’s cut that we love to watch for inspiration like all those Rocky movies, but you stick to the old-fashioned learning, practice, plus hard work. This is the recipe for success or for reaching your American dream that will fulfill your life and ambition. Do not be afraid to dream big and without fear.
