It’s loaded with breathtaking architecture, astonishing temples, and churches. In case you didn’t know, this place is one of the oldest constantly occupied cities in the world. But besides having a rich history, the eternal city offers many other attractions that are ideal for people who want to take their kids as well.

If you’ve never gone there before and you need some advice when it comes to preparing for this journey, then maybe these tips that we put together today might just be useful to you. Let’s check them out together!

Smart Tips To Plan Your Trip To Rome

Pass Tickets As A Must

You’ve probably figured out by now that this destination is packed with a variety of different attractions, such as the Roman Colosseum, Palatine Hill, and many others. Therefore, if you want to ensure both you and your children thoroughly see all these popular attractions, then it would be advisable to obtain a Roma pass ticket so you can properly explore every inch of this city. Another huge benefit of pass tickets is the fact that you will get the chance to use the city’s public transportation free of charge! That’s great news!

Three Days At Least!

Bear in mind that this city is huge and is filled with various attractions that simply must be seen, especially if you’re a first-time visitor. Consequently, it would be great if you planned at least three days for it.

Of course, anything less is fine as well, but then you will be in a continuous hurry to see everything the right way which can cause lots of stress and anxiety. Plus, ask yourself whether you’ll be able to fully enjoy it if you’re in a rush.

Keep in mind that some attractions, such as the Vatican Museums and the Colosseum can take up a lot of time, hence less than three days is simply not going to cut it.

Make Sure To Book Upfront

When traveling to this destination for the first time, you will most likely have a pretty good sense of what you want to visit. As previously mentioned, there are so many outstanding spots to see, like the Colosseum, the Pantheon, the Trevi Fountain, etc.

It is widely known that Rome is one of the most visited cities in the world, hence it’s practically always crowded. Oftentimes, there are huge crowds at these aforementioned attractions, and sometimes it can be very difficult to properly enjoy them.

That’s one of the reasons why it would be recommendable to book every single ticket in advance. If you ask us, it should be at least a couple of weeks before you go. Why is it so important?

Don’t forget that when you book things upfront, you will be able to instantly see which days are unavailable and which aren’t, meaning that you’ll have enough time to adjust your itinerary if necessary.

Otherwise, you may risk not being capable of seeing everything you wanted. But what are you going to do if all the tickets are sold out? Don’t worry, if something like this occurs, you can still visit all these attractions by joining a guided tour.

In case you didn’t know, a plethora of tour companies have access to extra tickets, and at times, they prebook them in advance too!

When Is The Best Time To Go There?

As stated above, Rome is an extremely popular city that is almost always loaded with tourists from different parts of the world, however, if you’re looking to avoid the crowd, then you should visit the eternal city between October and March, or if winter seems like a better option, then be sure to go there from December to February.

During these times, the city is a lot “emptier”, plus everything is much cheaper. On the other hand, during the summer, you can barely breathe from the crowd and long queues, plus it can be very hot which can be bothersome when you are exploring every part of this city.

Embrace Monday!

Mondays are also known as rest days in Italy, which means that it’s a perfect moment to take your children to museums and restaurants since they’ll be practically empty. So make use of it!

This romantic, enchanting and beautiful city must certainly be seen. However, if you want to make things a lot smoother and enjoy every second of your trip, then don’t forget to implement at least one of these tips above.
