This week I received some fantastic Chalk Markers from Chalkola. If you’ve ever followed The Inspiration Edit you may have noticed we have a huge white board where we often create lists, practice Sylvia’s spelling and do other forms of homework and learning. I guess being a qualified Teacher I got used to using chalk markers in the past and it’s something I’ve always used as a Mother with Sylvia.
Usually we buy a cheap set of markers in a basic colour for educational purposes, so when I was offered the chance to review the Chalkola range I was happy to give them a try and see if they are as great as they look online.
We were sent two packs of chalk pens. The first set were 6mm dry erase markers in premium Party colours. The second set of chalkboard markers were the Earth colours series. I particularly love the tones and think these would be great for Kids, Teachers, Chalk Artists and Cafe owners.
I really loved both the earth colours and the party colour marker pens and I had every intention of reviewing the chalkboard markers we were sent on our whiteboard at home. That was until I found myself in hospital for the past week. So In an effort to stay on track with my blog schedule I decided to get to work testing the chalk markers out in my hospital room instead and I must say, I did have a lot of fun.
The Chalkola Markers can be used on no porous surfaces including glass, whiteboards, mirrors, plastics and chalkboards. They are really versatile and I was really impressed with all the places I could use the pens. At home I can write a sweet message to my husband and Sylvia will be able to draw funny pictures on her new mirror.
We will use the pens for meal planning, for homework, spelling practice and to write small reminders. The pens are really easy to use. To get the pen working you have to shake it up and down for a good 30 seconds and then push the nib up and down. This is a once only process so it didn’t take too long to figure out what to do.
The Marker pens worked brilliantly and I was really impressed. They are child safe and I could not smell an odour as I can on other pens we have used in the past. The pens are quick dry and most importantly they wipe off with ease. I think that’s the most important factor for me when choosing chalk markers, how easy they come off surfaces.
I really do like the Chalkola range we tested and I look forward to using these in the home once I return from the hospital. I think they will be a fabulous addition for our family and they add colour and a little fun to our day.
