Today Sylvia came home with a new assignment. She had to follow and create a recipe as part of her homework. Sylvia wanted to make something she could take in for her classmates. We had been to the shop on the weekend and found a reduced cake. It was marked down from £10 down to £1 which was a bargain.
We all had a slice of cake yesterday and were planning to freeze the rest but then we came up with the idea of these cake balls and they came out brilliant.

How To Make Christmas truffles
So we removed the fondant from the cake and mashed it up into crumbs in the bowl.
We then made some icing, added it to the cake and rolled up some round cake balls.
After swimming lessons, Sylvia stopped at the store with her dad to buy some chocolate and decorations.
She melted the chocolate in the microwave and then covered the cake balls in white chocolate, placing them on a plate.
Sylvia added some icing decorations and some white shimmer snowflakes and holly berry sprinkles.
The cake balls began to look fabulous. We added the icing decorations before the chocolate set.
Sylvia had a super fun time and really enjoyed her project.
The cake balls were placed in the fridge to set.
Before bedtime Sylvia placed the cake balls on a themed plate and we took a few photos.
The cake balls turned out fabulous and I am super proud of them. Well done Sylvia.
Have you ever made cake balls. It’s really very fun.
