Staying Connected With Your Loved Ones During Lockdown – Collaboration

One of the worst things about lockdown is not being able to see your loved ones and catch up when you miss them. Being away from your extended family and friends is rough, especially when we’re all going through so much collectively and individually. All is not lost, though. There are some great ways to stay connected to your loved ones during lockdown, so read on for some ideas:

Arrange A Skype or Zoom Call

Skype and Zoom are both free platforms that you and your loved ones can take advantage of during lockdown. You can arrange a regular Skype or Zoom call and all catch up with one another at the same time. Your loved ones simply need to download the platforms, and with zoom, they just need a link to join your chat.

Host An Online Quiz

An online quiz can be a great way to spend time with your loved ones on a Friday or the weekend. Each week you could have a new quizmaster or theme.

Make The Most Of Facetime

Facetime is a great way to catch up quickly and one of the closest ways to seeing one another in person. All you need is an iPhone, but you can video chat on Whatsapp, too. If you have an older relative that won’t be able to facetime, setting up a regular time to call is probably a better idea. Look for the Best SIM Only Deals, and remember that all SIM Only plans include International Minutes to 41 countries so it doesn’t even matter if they live thousands of miles away.

Game Together

Gaming together can be a lot of fun. Houseparty allows you to chat, see one another’s faces, and play fun games. However, if you have a console like a Nintendo Switch, you could even play games like Animal Crossing together! It’s not the same as spending time together in person, but it’ll help to give you a therapeutic outlet during lockdown.

Start a Group Text Chat

A group text chat is a place you can catch up every day. It’s a really quick way to update one another and share pictures without having to send everything separately.

Make Exciting Plans For The Future

Use this time to make exciting plans for the future. Could you all have a weekend away, or plan a full blown vacation? You might not be able to do it until next year, but having something exciting to look forward to together will definitely make up for all this time spent apart.

Have a Movie Night

Why not have a movie night on the weekend? Grab some snacks and have a watch party using Netflix. You can all watch the same movie together and chat about it using the group chat.

Staying connected to your loved ones during lockdown takes a little bit of extra effort, but it’s so worth it. Don’t be afraid to confide in a trusted loved one if you’re feeling depressed or anxious during this time!
