Shopping for a New Autumn Coat

Shopping for  a New Autumn Coat

This week I managed to go on a trip to Asda with the family. Sylvia was really excited because we were buying her a new coat for the Autumn and Winter months.

Sylvia has really grown over the Summer months. She is only seven but has grown two dress sizes in a few months. She’s now fitting into size 9-10 clothes. She is growing really tall very fast. I can’t manage to walk around a supermarket so I travelled on a scooter.

Sylvia tried on a few different styles and colours. However at the end of the day, this red coat won us both over. The Coat cost £18 and really looks lovely on her. I expect it to last at least the next twelve months, unless she has another huge growth spurt.

I’ve been wanting to buy a coat for some time and was really pleased to find such a beautiful coat at an affordable price. It really is warm and cosy and will keep her looking and feeling great through the coming months.

I hope you liked this post. It’s exciting to by your child new things and to finally go shopping- even if it was straight to the coat section and back out again. I’m really happy they have these scooters, it makes all the difference in the world and we had a good shopping experience.

  1. Such a lovely coat – she looks adorable, like little red riding hood! So glad that you got to go out shopping, it’s great that the supermarkets have these scooters now, and so they should! x

  2. what a lovely coat and a great price. You should link up with my bargain of the week linky! Its a really traditional looking coat and bound to keep her warm all winter.

  3. Glad to hear you got out, it must be so frustrating for you dealing with illness all the time 🙁 Your daughter is so lovely and I’d probably pick that coat myself, it’s really cute!

    1. Thanks Becky. These scooters are life savers as John cannot possibly push me around in a manual wheelchair and collect the shopping at the same time. Thanks for stopping by!

  4. Okay, I feel somewhat ashamed that our earlier twitter chat about coats I was excited about buying a coat for me! The girls DO HAVE coats already, so I’m not the worst mum ever 😉 This is lovely, I can’t wait till Tigs fits into the older girls stuff. She looks chuffed to bits. Thanks for linking up to #coolmumclub

    1. It’s always great to get a nice coat for ourselves and the kids! I am waiting until I lose a bit more weight so i can fit back into my old coat! 🙂

  5. Oh this is beautiful!!! I love red coats on little girls, we always used to have new red coats for Christmas and it just reminds me of that! The style of this one is so classic and gorgeous, great bargain for that price. x

  6. It’s a beautiful coat, perfect for winter! Great for just wearing as normal coat, but fancy enough looking to get away with it for special occasions i.e. christmas etc. Also quite a bargain which is nice to see 🙂 I’m glad you enjoyed your shopping trip!

  7. Awww she looks gorgeous and it is a fab looking coat. Bargin for £18! That’s really good! I may have to look in Asda when I need to get my daughter a new coat 🙂

  8. I love this coat Angela!! It is beautiful and I love the colour too!! Your daughter is soo cute!! She has a lovely smile!! We like to shop our groceries at Asda so I always go to George to see what they have got and they have never disappointed me. Their clothes are always good and affordable!! That reminds me that I should go and have a look again for winter clothes!! 😉 Thanks for sharing, xx

    1. I also love the sales in George at the end of the season. I like to get a few goodies for my sister’s kids in New Zealand where they are about to go into the season that is ending here and can pick up some great bargains too!

    1. Me too… I just love getting lovely things, clothes, items and it’s been some time since we shopped. I’m so grateful for the lovely bag you sent me… I use it a lot- every time i go to hospital. Angela x

  9. Oh your daughter looks fab in this. I always think a bright coat for the winter is great it adds a bit of colour to the dull days. Sofia has a bright pink ski jacket that makes me feel happy to see (and makes her very visible which is a bonus on dark nights).

    1. Thanks Helen, It is really helpful. I love supermarkets.. they have the perfect transport for me and great kids clothing and toys sections… we can get everything we need from one store!

    1. Yes, It has all ready started doing it’s job as the weather has cooled down. Now I’d like to get her boots but they are so expensive and it’s one thing a month as we need to stick to our budget.
