A Visit To SeaLife Manchester

Last week we had the opportunity to visit and review SeaLife Manchester as a family. My daughter visited another Sealife a while back and I was too unwell to attend but this time, Sylvia, my husband John and I were able to go together and we had a lovely visit.

SeaLife Manchester

At the entrance we were given some SeaLife glasses for Sylvia to wear and a booklet to search for different sea creatures and letters to allow us to form a word at the end of the visit. We were told if we could find all the letters and work out the word we would get a prize at the end.

We started at turtle beach and we learnt about the life cycle of sea turtles which was really interesting and fun to watch. We then learnt about a resident turtle called Ernie and were excited to look out for him during our adventure.

The first SeaLife creatures we came across were Jelly fish. My daughter cracked me up. She was talking to the Jellyfish, saying, “You are so graceful”. Then she turned around and said, “I want to be a graceful Jellyfish Mum”. It made me laugh as I’ve never hear Sylvia use that word before.

During our Journey Sylvia carried her Dory Fish. She really wanted to take Dory on the trip to SeaLife Manchester and I wasn’t going to say no.

We had a great time looking at the Clownfish. there was one Blue Dory Fish amongst the Clownfish which Sylvia found to be really cool. She was excited to find a fish just like her Dory soft toy.

SeaLife Manchester

It was really great because one of the tanks had a tunnel for children to go under so they could get another view of the fish and Sylvia enjoyed her time in this tunnel.

We even took a photo to make it look like her Dory soft toy was in the tank. We then went to search for Ernie the Sea Turtle and we found him. He is huge and it was lovely to see him swimming around in the tank.

SeaLife Manchester

Walking through tunnels was really quite exciting and different. We had a very clear view of the different SeaLife all in the same tank.

SeaLife Manchester

There was even a shark and we were able to see underneath the sharks body and find his gills. We saw stingray too in another tank and was able to see them being fed at 3pm.

SeaLife Manchester

We found a small tank full of small turtles. They were so adorable and Sylvia got really excited about these turtles. She kept calling her dad to come and see. She didn’t want either of us to miss out.

SeaLife Manchester

After viewing the turtles we went to the activity area to do some dot to dot puzzles and colouring in. I cant walk for very long due to illness and needed to sit down quite a bit during the journey and it was great that there were areas to sit throughout the centre.

SeaLife Manchester

Sylvia and John learnt about turtle eggs and the experience was really very educational. I was really impressed with all the information available to read and learn about different SeaLife and creatures.

SeaLife Manchester

As we came to the end of the centre we discovered an area full of star fish. Sylvia was able to touch the star fish and learn what they felt like. There was a sink available to wash hands afterwards which was really good. We had a fantastic adventure and Sylvia loved her day out. It was even better because we got to all go and enjoy ourselves. I did get tired very quickly and john and Sylvia went around the centre a second time whilst I rested.

SeaLife Manchester

At the end of the adventure Sylvia was given a badge for completing the tasks in the booklet and working out the secret word. We had a fantastic time and really enjoyed our day out.

We were given complimentary access in return for an honest and open review
