Are you looking for a Santa Fe Disneyland hotel review? Look no further, today I’m sharing my experience of staying in the Santa Fe Hotel during our Disneyland trip to Paris.

Well we are finally at Disneyland Paris and today was fantastic. We arrived at our destination, The Santa Fe Hotel at 11am in the morning. The first thing we needed to do was check in. I was able to give the staff my name and was given a form for each adult to complete.

Speaking in Your Own Language at Santa Fe Hotel Disneyland

After arriving at the Santa Fe at Disneyland Paris we had to queue for around 10 minutes before being served at an English speaking desk. In the past we have arrived via train. In this case the queues for check in will be much longer but on this occasion we arrived before the crowds.

At the Santa Fe Hotel there are a number of desks each with different speaking clerks. So if your first language is French or Spanish or another European language, the chances are you will be able to be served in your native language. This is really good especially when it’s your first time and you need to know where to go and how to check in your luggage.

A Review of Our the Santa Fe Hotel

I was given our room key which I was told would automatically allow us in our room from 3pm, our official check in time. We were able to place our luggage in the luggage hold across from the reception and get on with our day.

Next to the reception was a meet and greet area and who should be visiting for half an hour but Mickey Mouse.

My brother was so excited to see Mickey. We decided to jump in the queue and get Mickey to sign James and Sylvia’s autograph books and have some family photos.

When you see a queue in the hotel lobby I’d recommend jumping in it. You may end up waiting a good 10 to 15 minutes to meet a Disney Character but it’s a much shorter wait than the one you may have to make in the actual park.

It’s also a great opportunity to have a photo with Mickey in the Santa Fe Hotel against the Santa Fe style backdrop. Our

When we entered our rooms at the end of the day, they appeared to be clean and fresh at first glance, however we did discover a major mould issue in the bathroom which I will write more about further on.

The rooms were themed after the Disney Pixar movie Cars and we had a reasonable sized room for the money we paid.

Disneyland, Santa Fe Hotel and Disabilities

My brother James was so excited to go to Disneyland. James had global developmental delay and although he is an adult he has special needs and was like a little kid, meeting Mickey Mouse.

James and Mickey had cuddles and photos and my brother could not stop smiling and talking about Mickey for the rest of the day. Everywhere we went James told strangers he had met Mickey Mouse.

Disneyland and the Santa Fe Hotel are really great when meeting the needs of those with disabilities. Disabled access is available. There are wheelchair friendly entrances and exits and the parks have special priority cards for those who meet the criteria.

There is an accessibility map available both at the Santa Fe Hotel and at the Disneyland parks so you can plan the route you need to go if your using a wheelchair at disneyland.

How Do I Get From the Santa Fe Hotel to Disneyland Paris?

The Santa Fe hotel is 5 minutes away from the Disney village and you will need to take the free shuttle bus to speed up your journey. There is always the option to walk but trust me, you do enough walking at Disneyland that the shuttle is a real time saver.

We caught a shuttle bus from the Santa Fe Hotel to the Disneyland Bus Station. We used the wheelchair access door to wheel my wheelchair onto the bus.

I have to be honest and say that on every journey we took people were really rude pushing and shoving and often blocking the disabled section forcing us to wait for the next bus. It was a little disappointing and we were eventually told to board the bus at the drop off zone before the boarding area to avoid the pushing.

Our journey  took around 4-5 minutes and we were then at the Disney village and able to finally visit our dream destination Disneyland.

What Are the Rooms Like at Santa Fe Disneyland?

Staying at the Santa Fe hotel, we had booked one room. Our room was family size and situated in the Lightening McQueen section. Although the Santa Fe Hotel room were a little run down inside, they was nice enough and comfortable.

We spent the day at Disneyland and returned to our hotel at 7pm. We had showers, using the special Mickey soap.

You get a tiny bar of soap wrapped in a Disney wrapper and a small jar of shampoo and body wash.

The jars are quite tiny and were not really enough for four people who had spent the day in the hot sun, but we had brought some of our own toiletries which was good.

The bathroom in our Santa Fe Hotel room had a strong shower but there was a lot of mould on the ceiling. The mould was black and by the time I had finished my shower I was wheezing with asthma which is not normal. We had to move rooms and I must admit the next room we moved into was almost as bad. The rooms were comfortable but the mould was clearly an issue.

I did love the theme of our room at Santa Fe which is based on Disney Pixar Cars. There are some fun features, wallpaper borders, cone lights and a great themed mirror in the bathroom, however the rooms were run down and needed work doing, especially to the walls and in the bathroom area.

Breakfast at the Santa Fe Hotel.

We had breakfast at the Santa Fe Hotel and it was fantastic. There was a large selection of foods to choose from, cold drink, warm drinks, crossiants and bagels. There was also cereals, fruit and toast. The breakfast was filling and a good start to the day.

Eating Dinner at la Cantina in the Santa Fe Hotel Disneyland

In the evening we had a buffet meal at La Cantina, The Santa Fe Hotel restaurant and I have to say it was brilliant. There was so much choice of food from starters and salads, soup and mains to delicious desserts. John and Sylvia has lasanga, I had a piece of chicken, salmon and veg. My brother had pizza and chips and there was just so much to choose from it was crazy.

For dessert Sylvia had pancakes with chocolate sauce and cream and lots of fun confectionary. She loved it.Our meal was included in our package deal which was great. I would totally recommend eating at La Cantina.

We have the option of book into around 6 different locations to eat for our evening meals including restaurants in Disneyland. However we loved La Cantina and it was pretty amazing.

Had we paid cash the meal would have cost one hundred Euros for 3 adults and one child. The staff at the Santa Fe Hotel are really polite and helpful. The food is brilliant and the distance to the park is manageable.

The Pros and Cons of the Santa Fe Hotel Disneyland

The Santa Fe Hotel is a lovely place to stay. It is a little more run down that the other hotels at Disneyland but that is reflected in the price and it was much cheaper for us to book into this hotel than another.

The food at La Cantina is amazing and the staff were always friendly and polite and helpful. The only let down for me would be the state of the room.

I do need to be honest. We had an amazing experience at Disneyland and it was well worth going. I hope you enjoy your stay at Disneyland. Have a magical time!
