Celebrating Rio 2016 With PlayFactore
Last week, Sylvia John and I went to PlayFactore in Manchester to join in with the Olympic Rio 2016 celebrations. We had a fantastic time and had a wonderful day out and I’m so excited to share our adventures with all of you.
Playfactor is a massive Indoor play arena. Based at the Trafford Centre in Manchester, the entertainment centre has Europe’s largest play frame with a huge slide along with lots of fun entertaining activities.
We were invited to the Rio 2016 celebration party and so we started the event off with drinks and a visit to the party room. The party rooms are really quite colourful and bright. I loved the art work and illustrations on the walls.
After having our J2O’s we left the room to go try out the entertainment. Sylvia really wanted to go on the go Karts and so that was the first place we went.
There was a small queue to go on the go karts, It wasn’t too big and Sylvia built up her excitement whilst watching the children go before her. She waited around 5 minutes which was not too long. Sylvia loved the Go Karts and chose the red and yellow kart.
Riding on the Go Kart was really fun and Sylvia enjoyed this activity. Once she had finished she went on the climbing frame to test out the big red slide.
The slide was massive and Sylvia went on it over and over again. John even went on the slide too. I would have loved to try it out as adults are allowed but there is no way I could have climbed to the top of that frame with my health. It did look really fun though.
After an hour we returned to the party room to have our Rio 2016 party. There was a great selection of pizzas, bagels and party food, along with plenty of vegetables and fruit. We loved the party and Sylvia enjoyed eating pizza and nachos.
We also got boxes with cookies and a decoration kit to decorate them. We saved ours and took it home to do later as there was plenty of food to eat during the party.
It was really nice to meet other parents, bloggers and kids and my husband was so impressed. He ate quite a few pieces of pepperoni pizza.
The Playfactore centre has a Cafe with desserts and cakes, hot and cold drinks and meal options. Clearly we didn’t need to visit the Cafe as we were part of the Rio 2016 party but the cakes looked pretty delicious.
We then went to watch the Brazilian capoeira. There were specialists doing a demonstration and it was really fun to watch. I have seen capoeira on television before but not close up and we enjoyed seeing this.
We were so busy that we never got around to doing the laser tag. That’s because Sylvia wanted to try out the Zip line which she absolutely loved. The Zip line had to be the highlight of the day. I loved watching my daughter flying through the air and she was having a ball of a time.
I have to say Zip lining is something I’d love to do one day. It just looks so fun. The PlayFactore Zip line is for kids up to the age of 16 which is pretty cool. Sylvia loved it and she has asked to go back again.
We had a fantastic day out, the event was fun, the food was great and the entertainment activities brilliant. We loved PlayFactore and are pleased to have had the opportunity to test out the arena.
Disclosure: We were invited to the Rio Olympics Event and given the option of writing a blog post.
