Pass The Pen Review With Wicked Uncle
This week we got a fantastic new game in the mail called Pass the Pen from the children’s gift store Wicked Uncle. I was not sure what to expect as we have never purchased a gift or game from Wicked Uncle before but this game was fabulous and Sylvia really does love it.
Sylvia was so excited to play she took her game into the garden to play with her school friends. The game is for children aged 8 plus and was an instant hit. There are four basic items, cards, a pen, paper and a dice.
The game is simple and easy to play. You roll the dice and then whatever colour you get, you have to draw the item on the back of the card connected to that colour. For example if you roll yellow, you draw the words written in yellow.
Some examples were, Starwars, Swordfish, Grand Piano and Apple Pie. I think the age range for the game is appropriate as some of the words are more trickier than others. Sylvia knew most of the words but some she is learning which is not a bad thing. It’s an opportunity for her to increase her vocabulary.
The Pen is on a timer and the tip of the pen disappears very quickly. You have to draw the item on the paper before the tip runs out. It is really fast and we found this aspect of the game made it fun and exciting. Sylvia had fun and I enjoyed the game too. Some children’s games I don’t enjoy and find a little boring but I really enjoyed this one.
Sylvia enjoyed playing the game for the first time with her school friends outside and then played with me later on in the evening. We had a lot of fun and Pass the pen was a big hit for everyone. We will be keeping this game in the games cupboard and I suspect we will be playing it quite a lot in the coming days.
