Vacations change when kids become part of the package. As a couple, you could go at your leisure, soaking in places that maybe we’re too kid-friendly. Now, you have tiny fingers and toes to consider as well as developing minds. 4. Glen Rose, Texas
Go back to prehistoric days by heading over to Dinosaur Valley State Park located in Glen Rose, about 75 miles southwest of Texas. Your dino-loving littles are bound to be fascinated as they hunt for ancient footprints in the Paluxy River. Then, grab some fishing pools, travel on a good-fashioned wagon and pretend to be a cowboy for the day.
The quaint town boasts 30 buildings that are part of the National Historic Registry. Stroll around, grab something to eat and frequent some local shops.
5. Denver, Colorado
The mile-high city has plenty to explore. Younger kids may love hitting up the Denver Firefighters Museum and the Children’s Museum. These interactive educational centers offer hands-on stations where kids can experiment with different concepts. For older youth, the city has an aquarium, zoo and science center. The zoo alone houses approximately 4,300 animals, representing 650 species. After walking around, take a break and hop on the trolley, looking at the city’s architecture.
Having kids changes vacations, but it doesn’t stop them. Plenty of cities are waiting for your crew, eager to assist you in making memories and smiles.
