Jungle Jam Rhyming Books For Kids

Today I am reviewing the brand new children’s book Jungle Jam in Brazil created by Louise and Noam Lederman. Jungle Jam is a book series that focuses on band music, musical culture and sounds.

As a previous early years teacher one of my favourite things to do in the preschool setting was to read with kids and have mat time. We would sing and have fun and I particularly loved music with the children.

Reading the Jungle Jam Book and the Jungle Jam in Brazil book with Sylvia really brought back some memories of my teaching days which was really lovely.

The first book Jungle Jam is about Mikey the Monkey. Mikey want’s to share his love of music and singing with the world and travels on an adventure meeting different jungle animals who lay musical instruments. The animals form a band and call it “Jungle Jam.

Sylvia enjoyed the story. We both loved the illustrations and the quality of the books is great. The second book Jungle Jam in Brazil follows the band as they go on tour. This story is about Gina the Giraffe, an animal who has a fear of trying “new things”.

Jungle Jam in Brazil again has lovely illustrations, is fun to read and shares an important life lesson through Gina’s musical journey. I am a huge fan or rhyming books and so these books really do stand out to me.

I really do like the first two books in the Jungle Jam series. I have read that another three books will be released before Christmas featuring animals in India, Spain and the USA.

I love that these books explore culture and music and touch on personal issues along the way. I think they can be a great learning tool for young children, as well as fun and promoting the importance of music.

The Jungle Jam Books we have read are fantastic and I’d like to collect the whole series as they are released. I guess as a early years teacher I love to collect quality books and these are now on my “to buy” list for the future.

Jungle Jam is available on Amazon and at Waterstones. There is also a range of Jungle Jam toys including Mikey the Monkey, Gina the Giraffe and an awesome wooden Jigsaw set which is so cute. Books cost £5.99  and you can even download free Jungle Jam songs from the jungle Jam website.

I do think this is a fabulous idea and as someone who loves music and the early years, this series is right up my street.
