After almost 3 years of some of the craziest times we have lived through as a generation, here’s hoping 2023 is on the UP! In the fashion world, 2022 saw the revival of much-loved trends from years gone by. This included ballet pumps, platforms in all shapes and sizes, cowboy boots, and squared toes.

Incoming 2023 Shoe Trends

So, we’re wondering, will we up the ante in 2023 and push further into even more daring trends? According to the guys at Koi Footwear, 2023 has plenty of fashion shoe trends to look forward to. So, if you want to prepare your shoedrobe with all the necessary styles to keep yourself on trend this year, keep reading for more…

Pointed-toe sophistication

While squared-toes reigned supreme in 2022 and have been embraced by all major fashion outlets and designers, we’re going back to our roots. Saying goodbye to the fun trend that was, squared everything and hello to the original symbol of sophistication – a pointed toe.

Expect to see a plethora of pointed toe shoes hit your social feeds, boutique stores and highstreet retailers, as the sharp pointed toe of the 80s gets a modern revamp. A fun way we have already seen this be worn, is to dress down a pointed sling back or mule with a casual, baggy jean, which gives a subtle nod to the relaxed, cool-girl styles of the 1990’s.

Lace up everything

Cast your mind back to the late 00’s early 10’s and you may have a haunting memory of donning a pair of lace-up gladiator sandals. Remember the ones? Those that stretched up your calf and required a minimum of 20 minutes to lace up perfectly. That’s right, this trend may be sneaking its way back into our closets. Not quite gladiator sandals, but the likes of Givenchy and Jason Wu, have re-imagined the lace-up trend, showcasing stilettos and flats

with front lace detailing. Could this be a new Summer shoe trend to add to your collection?

Bigger and better biker boots

Always a favourite amongst the fashion crowd, biker boots will continue to reign in 2023. This year we expect to see plenty more flat biker boots, featuring a lot more detailing such as buckles, metal accessories and studs. These will also embrace an even wider, thicker sole, perfect for pairing with a dressed-down casual look.

Modern Mary Janes

A 2022 favourite, the love for Mary Janes just doesn’t stop. And with fun and daring variations coming from some of the biggest designers, they’re set to stay put in 2023. We can expect to see a greater variety of Mary Janes on display this year, as more and more fashion lovers and brands embrace the trend. Platform mary janes, in particular, will be a popular choice as we head into the spring and summer seasons.

Well, there you have it, just some of the shoe trends you can anticipate in 2023. Looking to add some new styles to your shoedrobe? Get shopping these styles today!
