One positive outcome of the Covid-19 pandemic is that people have started prioritizing their mental and physical health, which would have otherwise gotten neglected in the hustle and bustle of daily life.

Today, people are carving out time to exercise, meditate and best of all, relax.

But there is one essential thing many people tend to overlook.

And that’s going for regular checkups and tests, which is definitely not a smart move.

Importance of regular health screenings

Health experts recommend their patients go for regular checkups and tests as they can literally save their life.

With the help of health screenings, your doctor can easily detect any underlying health conditions and prevent complications before they become problematic. This, in turn, will help improve the overall quality of your life.

Not to mention, these reports can also help in finding out asymptomatic diseases which would have gotten unnoticed for a very long time.

That’s why here we have some important tests and checkups you must never miss out on.

Blood pressure screening

You’ll be surprised to know that high blood pressure (BP) or hypertension has been found to be a root cause of death for 7.6 million deaths per annum worldwide. Yes, that’s right, the number is that high.

So, if you don’t wish to contribute to that number, you must keep a close check on your blood pressure.

Ideally, your BP should be over 80 and less than 120. According to health experts, as soon as you turn 18, it would be best to get your BP checked at least once in two years.

If left untreated, high BP could lead to increased chances of having a stroke or any other heart disease.

Full-body CT scan

With the help of a computed tomography (CT or CAT) scan helps in giving exact cross-sectional images of your internal body. It helps in diagnosing symptoms of cancer, cardiac diseases, and other abnormalities.

Not to mention, it also produces detailed pictures of all your organs, tissues, and bones.

The procedure is really beneficial for people who are undergoing any therapy or experiencing symptoms of any disease.

With the help of regular CT Scans, your healthcare provider can monitor what’s going on inside your body. This, in turn, will allow them to plan, guide, and observe if the therapy is helping you heal or prevent the symptoms from being problematic.

Skin checkups

Dermatologists recommend going for a skin exam and checking for any new moles, freckles, or other marks on your body.

This way, you can not only prolong the health of your skin but also reduce the risk of skin cancers.

Going for a regular skin exam is especially important for people who already have a genetic history of skin conditions.

Dental checkup

Believe it or not, good dental health is important right after the eruption of your first baby tooth.

Dentists recommend their patients undergo a dental exam at least twice a year.

This way, they can detect the early signs of tooth decay and help you have a healthy smile for a very long time.

Not to mention, regular dental checkups can also reduce any chance of oral diseases, which could become a problem for your mouth in the long run.

In the end,

Going for regular checkups and tests is vital if you wish to live a long and healthy life. So, opt for the screening tests mentioned above and keep your body happy and healthy.
