How to Make An Olaf Cake And Frozen Character Cakes – (Gifted Item)
This week we are excited to share a new find that we have – the Frozen 2 cast character cakelet pan. When I heard about the Nordic Ware Disney Frozen 2 bakeware collection available from Hearts Of Stur I was super excited. Sylvia and I have a great love for the Frozen movie and have shared some frozen baking ideas in the past.
Nordic Ware Disney Frozen 2 Cakelet Pan
The Disney Frozen 2 Cast character cakelet pan is a cast aluminium pan that features individual cakelets with great detail of Elsa, Anna, Olaf and Sven consistent with the Frozen 2 theme.
When we received the Frozen 2 cakelet pan, we were ready to make some tasty treats. As this was a quick activity and we were eager to taste our Frozen Olaf cake along with Anna, Elsa and Sven, we use a boxed cake mix.
Chocolate Cake Recipe
You can cook a cake from scratch using our chocolate cake mix recipe or simply grab a box of your favourite flavoured cake from the supermarket or your pantry! Cake mix is a staple in our home!
Making The Anna, Elsa, Sven and Frozen Olaf Cake
Now for the fun part. Sylvia measured out the ingredients and had fun mixing the chocolate cake mix in a bowl.
Once the cake mixture was ready Sylvia spooned the cake mixture into each of the four Frozen character cakelet sections.
Filling the cast Iron cakelet pan was super fun and a task my daughter really enjoyed. First she filled the Sven cake section, followed by Elsa, Anna and Olaf.
Don’t worry if you or your child gets cake mix of the edges or side of the Nordic Ware cakelet pan, it can easily be wiped off before baking in the oven.
Top tip! If you overfill the FROZEN 2 Cakelet Pan, you can easily scoop out some of the mixture. Our cake mix created double recipe so we were able to make 8 Frozen character cakes altogether.
Baking our Olaf, Anna , Sven and Elsa Cake In The Oven
Once our cakelet pan was ready and filled with sweet gooey chocolate cake mix we were able to place it in the oven to bake. We had an approximate time of 25 to 30 minutes and we tested the consistency of the cake after that time period to check the cakes had cooked through.
After the cakes had cooled down, we removed them from the cakelet pan. The cakes came out well and I was really impressed with the designs. They really did look like Frozen cakes.
Decorating Our Frozen Chracters and Elsa Cake
You can opt to decorate your Frozen 2 cakes any way you please. We opted for a dusting of icing sugar rather than chocolate icing to keep the cakes lighter.
I am really pleased with this new piece of Nordic Ware to add to our collection. Baking with kids is not only a fun activity but a great way to bond and spend time together as a family. We were going to save our Frozen cakes to watch with the Frozen 2 movie but the honest truth is everyone wanted to try them and before we knew it the cakes were being demolished!
