- Step 1: Download and print out the bookmarks. (You'll find the template at the bottom of this post.)
- Step 2: Color the bookmarks with crayon or marker.
- Step 3: Cut the bookmarks out and hole punch the hole at the top.
- Step 4: Fold a piece of cardstock in half and then over until it’s been folded four times total.

- Step 5: Wrap thread around the cardstock until your desired thickness has been reached. Forty times seems to work perfectly.

- Step 6:Carefully slide the thread off the cardstock and do not allow it to close together. Keep the loop open. Cut the thread from the spool.

- Step 7: Gently slide thread through the loop and leave it hang.

- Step 8: Cut a long piece of thread and start wrapping it around the top as you see in photo. Secure by tying a knot. Trim off the excess thread.

- Step 9: Take your scissors and slide them into the middle of the loop and cut the bottom of the loop to create a tassel.
