🧑🎨 Expert Tips
- Muted Candy Colors: Choose slightly muted shades like dusty pink, teal, and soft yellow for candy decorations to give the ornament a more vintage, nostalgic feel.
- Raised Door Frames: Create simple door and window frames with small strips of craft foam or thick cardstock to add easy three-dimensional detailing.
- Weathered Frost Effect: Lightly dry-brush white paint across roof edges and windowsills to mimic the look of freshly fallen, slightly melting snow.
- Playful Roof Lines: Sketch gentle curves into the roof line instead of sharp peaks to give the house a softer, whimsical personality that feels storybook-like.
- Tiny Button Accents: Use mini buttons instead of paper circles for candy dots to create a sturdier, longer-lasting embellishment that gives extra charm.
- Layered Base Tip: Mount the finished gingerbread house onto a slightly larger scalloped circle of sturdy cardstock to create a framed ornament that feels more complete.
