Gifted Experience.
If you follow us on social media, you’ll know that Sylvia and her father have a tradition of going to the movies regular for family friendly movies. It’s something they love to do, escaping to the big screen, grabbing some popcorn and treats and enjoying the latest Disney film or child friendly movie.
I also love the movies and visiting the Vue as a family is always the best experience, however for me it’s hit and miss especially as I have adrenal failure. This weekend my health did not allow me to attend but that didn’t stop the rest of the family enjoying a fantastic afternoon out at the Vue Bolton.
Escape To The Vue
Since lockdown back in March, Sylvia and John have not really had a chance to visit the movies. It’s something they really missed and with the Vue screening Family Friendly Movies in a safe environment we decided it was time to return to enjoy the Disney movie Onward!
Wearing Face Masks At The Cinema
With safety measures in place, John and Sylvia were able to attend the Vue Bolton at Middlebrook. In order to ensure patrons are spaced out safely you need to prepay for your tickets. You’ll then be seated as a family at a safe distance from other family bubbles.
You will need to wear a facemask at the cinema during your movie. Of course, this can be taken off to eat and drink but the mask will need to stay on. This does of course take a little getting used to and once or twice John and Sylvia’s glasses steamed up whilst watching the movie but it didn’t ruin the experience.
Buying Popcorn At The Vue
The Vue has a great option of food and treats. John and Sylvia had nachos, popcorn, drinks and chocolate. They had a great time munching on food as they enjoyed the movie Onward. They loved the storyline and were excited to share the experience with me once they got home.
Eating popcorn at the movies is a tradition for us and always adds to the excitement. Sylvia was so happy to be getting back to the movies after such a long time and cant wait to go again. She is hoping to see Hocus Pocus.
Watching Movies At The Cinema During A Pandemic
It can be a little nerve wracking doing something new following lock down and trying to adapt to the new rules and guidelines such as the safety measures that are in place at The Vue Bolton. However this allowed the family to visit the cinema and have a fantastic and safe experience and it was so good for John and Sylvia to get back to a place they love to visit.
Tips For Visiting The Vue At Half Term
If you’re planning to visit the Vue at half term then here are a few tips based on our experience.
- Book your tickets in advance so your seating can be prearranged.
- Take a face mask for the whole family.
- Take hand sanitizer to keep your hands clean.
- Take some extra money for popcorn, drinks and treats.
- Keep your family together and keep 2 meters apart from others.
We were gifted the tickets and food items.
I would love to go to the cinema again but only to see a new film. Hoping something gets released for half term!
I always really enjoy a trip to the cinema – especially The Vue! It must be great to have a ‘normal’ activity back in your life and it sounds very safe <3
We love a trip to the cinema but we haven’t been for such a long time. The last film we saw at the cinema was Toy Story 4. lol It sounds like Sylvia and John had a great time x
