At the moment life seems to be one huge roller coaster with plenty of highs and lows, up and downs. Today I thought I’d just write a diary-style entry and share 3 things I am excited about.

So here goes…

3 Reasons I Am Excited About Life

I Am Excited About New Zealand

So why am I excited? I think because I have a loving family and so much to look forward to in life. Yes, I’m sick but later this year we are travelling to New Zealand to visit my parents, brothers and my sister.

I’ve not seen my sister Deborah Brunt in almost 10 years. It has been a long time and I can’t wait to meet my nieces and nephews, all 6 of them.

I’m nervous. I know the journey may have a huge toll on my health and I won’t be on holiday in the sense of being able to go out and about. I will most likely need to sleep a lot and rest but I can do it with my family around me and that is what I am looking forward to.

We have organised care for the dogs and the only things we need to do now is sort out our American Visa’s as we fly through New York on the way to our destination.

I Am Excited About Essential Oils

So In December, I began learning about essential oils and whilst I am not going to try and force them onto others, I love the therapeutic benefits of the oils and how they are complimenting my life.

I made a list of health issues that I have (I have a lot) 36 in total and am looking at ways different essential oils and oil blends can help me.

For example, I found oil to get rid of my fungal infection which had been causing problems since around 2017 and it is now completely gone thanks to tea tree oil. It helped me to finally overcome that issue and now I use a drop of oil each day to prevent it coming back.

I’ve been working on an oil blend to prevent cellulitis which I often got from my needles (adrenal pump cannula). Getting tummy infections has been a big problem and my Doctor struggled to help me find a solution.

I have been using an oil blend called On Guard. I read some research about the oil and how a University Doctor conducted experiments to see how On Guard Oil helped kill bacteria and germs. I started using the oil on my tummy, every day and I have had 4 cannulas in a row that has not become infected.

This is so so good. I finally have a solution and the fewer infections, the less steroid medication and less low cortisol symptoms I feel. I am so pleased with the progress and will keep using this and hope the (no infections) continues.

I’ve also been using lavender to help me and Sylvia sleep and am slowly working through my list of issues to help complement and reduce the symptoms I suffer from as someone with chronic illness.

I am excited to learn more and read about oils and am finding it fascinating. It’s great to be able to slowly improve my own health and Sylvia’s.

I Am Excited About Our Plans for the Coming Months

In April we are going to review Blackpool Pleasure Beach and I have a collaboration in London which I will share more about in future. It’s going to be hard physically but I am looking forward to these two opportunities.

In May we are going to the review the Ballet and Sylvia will be turning 11. We need to plan a sleepover or party. Sylvia has SATS exams and would like to visit Flamingo Land after exams… so I’m hoping we can take her to Flamingo Land in May or June.

There are some exciting things to look forward to in the coming months.

Yes I am unwell and the outings will burn me out but I will pace myself and try to enjoy what I can.

Life has been tough, I’ve been so unwell but I am hoping to improve. We have worries, and problems, stresses and difficulties but we also have a lot to look forward to and that is exciting.

  1. First time seeing your sister in 10 years!? I am happy for you! You all will have such a lovely visit. The oils… I would love to hear more about how you beat that fungal infection. Topically? I’m looking forward to reading your reviews.

    1. yes, I used a mix of Melaleuca,(5 drops) lavender (5 drops) and spikenard (5 drops) in a 10ml roller ball and then topped it up with coconut oil. I used it for one week and once the infection cleared up I just put melaleuca on the area once a day ever since and it has not come back. 🙂 Topically worked well! I was so surprised and impressed.

  2. New Zealand!? Sounds so fab. And I am glad you have so much to look forward to. Sometimes I feel blah and need a reminder to find joy in what lies ahead!

  3. It’s always nice to get excited about life because it gives us something to look forward to. Love your energy and optimism. Never ever lose that 🙂
