BUSY NOW? WHY NOT PIN THIS HOT COCOA BOMB RECIPE FOR LATER?

Tips for Making Elves Cocoa Bombs

  • Make sure that you get the circle to seal completely. Otherwise the “surprise” of the cocoa bomb leaking out isn’t going to be as big of a deal!
  • You can also store these in an airtight container and enjoy them later. They don’t have to be used up right away.

Ingredients Needed to Make Cocoa Bombs That Look Like Elves

  • 1 bag white candy melts
  • 1 bag red candy melts
  • 6 tablespoons of hot chocolate mix
  • 15 marshmallows
  • 1 silicone dome mold
  • 3 green m&m’s
  • green sprinkles
  • 6 candy eyes

How to Make Elves Hot Cocoa Bombs

Melt white candy melts to the package directions in the microwave. Melt red candy melts to the package directions in the microwave.

adding candy melts to the bowl to mix

Add white candy melts to the dome mold and spread with the back of a spoon. Do this in one thin layer to coat then place in freezer for 10 minutes. Take it back out and coat only where you can see through the mold. If you cannot see through the mold you do not need to add more. You want the bomb to stay together but not be too thick.

If you add more to the see through spots then place back in the freezer for another 10 minutes. Remove and slowly pop out each side of the bombs. Place on a plate.

Heat a frying pan to low heat. Place one side of the bomb rim down onto the frying pan. This will lightly melt and even out the edges. Quickly add about 2 tablespoons cocoa mix to the bomb and marshmallows. Melt the other side of the bomb’s rim and then place even with the other side.

This will seal them together evenly. Do not add hot chocolate to the outside as it will just melt the bomb.

Take red candy melts and dot with a brush the mouth. Let the candy melts cool and shape into elf ears. Heat a little of the candy melts again to apply them to the bottom of the ears and attach them to the ball. Use white candy melts to brush on some to the back of the eyes and attach the eyes. Do this for the nose as well. Brush on some white candy melts to the top of the ball and sprinkle on the green sprinkles.
