 The Cutest DIY Unicorn Eggs

Easter is drawing ever so closer and it’s almost time for egg decorating season. When I was a child I decorated an egg which won first prize. It was a little ballerina egg and had a bun case for a tutu. I was so proud of it and remember it 20 years later.

Last week we shared some fantastic DIY Unicorn Gift Bags. I also made a fantastic Unicorn painted rock which is absolutely adorable. I’m sure you will love it.

Today we have a egg-specially special guest DIY tutorial for Unicorn eggs. They are so super cute and I am sure you will love them as much as we do.

How to Paint Unicorn Eggs

Paint the wooden eggs white. This will take 1-2 coats. Allow the paint to dry completely.

Download the unicorn template and print out. Cut the template out.

Trace the round circle onto gold glitter cardstock. Cut out. Cut the circle in half.

Roll the circle up into a horn shape. Secure the horn shape with a bit of hot glue.

Trace the ear and leaf template onto cardstock. Cut the pieces out.

Glue the pink inner ear onto the white portion of the ear. Set aside.

Glue the unicorn horn on the very top of the egg. (don’t forget that the top of the egg is more narrow than the bottom)

Glue an ear on each side of the horn.

Decorate the unicorn egg by gluing on paper flowers and the green leaves that you cut.

Use a pencil to draw on some sassy eyes and lashes.

Now it’s time to add a face.

Once you are happy with the eyes, trace over them with black posca paint marker or a black permanent marker.

Your unicorn eggs are finished and quite magical! What do you think? We love them a lot!

Display them in egg cups or in an egg carton! They will look amazing.

You may even want to glam up a egg carton, add glitter and make it into a cute decorative piece.
