Chinese Dragon Craft for Kids

Supplies Needed for the Chinese Dragon Craft

How To Make A Chinese Dragon Mask for the New Year
Before starting your craft you will need to download the dragon mask templates and print out. Templates are at the end of the post.
Step 1: Cut Out Chinese Dragon Template
Cut out your Chinese dragon mask template out. Print your templates here: One, Two, Three, Four.
Step 2: Trace Chinese Dragon Template
Trace the template onto cardstock and cut out. (refer to the photos)
Step 3: Cut Out Dragon Nose
Cut out the dragons nose template
Step 4: Color Dragon Nose
After cutting out the dragon’s nose, use black marker to add detail and nostrils.
Step 5: Cut Out Scales and Horn
Cut out the dragon’s head scales and horns and set aside.
Step 6: Cut Out Dragon Face
Cut out the template of the yellow face.
Step 7: Draw Lines on Dragon Mask
Use a black marker to add detail to the dragon’s head. (draw a line with pencil down the middle to get more accurate lines)
Step 8: Glue Dragon Mask Pieces
Glue the dragon’s head scales down and then glue the top of the dragon’s head over them.
Step 9: Glue Nose Onto Dragon Head
Glue the nose in the middle of the dragon’s head.
Step 10:Glue Fire to Dragons Mouth
Cut fire from cardstock and glue behind the dragon’s head, just below the nose.
Step 11: Cut Out Holes in Dragon Mask
Cut eye holes into the mask.
Step 12: Fill in the Dragon Nostrils
Fill the lines on the nose, nostrils, around the eyes, fire and horns with glue.
Step 13: Cover With Glitter
Cover the glue with glitter and allow it to dry. Shake off any excess glitter.
Step 14: Add a Popsicle Stick to Dragon Mask
Glue a popsicle stick onto the back of the mask and allow the glue to dry.
Your Chinese New Year Dragon dragon craft is finished! What a fantastic dragon mask!
