Bob’s Blue Period a Book About Feelings

Today on The Inspiration Edit I am sharing a new book called Bob’s blue period created by Marion Denchars.

Marion Denchars is an internationally acclaimed award-winning illustrator and author of the Let’s make some great Artbooks and Bob the Artist published by Laurence King.

Bobs blue period is a story of bob the bird who feels down because his friend bat has gone away. Bob is an artist who struggles to paint in the colourful way he used to paint everything in one colour, blue. Bob eventually discovers colour once more and his art becomes colourful once more.

I love that this book covers the topic of feelings and I think it’s a great way to get children to talk about how they feel in different situations.

The illustrations in the book are adorable and even the text is illustrated and different which makes the book unique and quirky. I really enjoyed reading the story with my daughter.

As with all books we review I read them with my child and ask her if she would like to keep the book or donate it to her school. Sylvia wanted to keep this one. She really likes it and it has been added to her collection.

I do love the size of the book Bob’s blue period and the fact it’s a hardback and of top quality just makes it even more special. We love the book and are pleased we were able to share it here on the blog.
