Yoda the Bichon Frise has been up to a lot of mischief over the past two weeks both indoors and out! He can be a real Monkey at times and loves to get into anything and everything.
Each week I will be writing an update on Yoda’s Antics. Please follow along. I’m sure it will be a lot of fun.
Out and About
Yoda has been out a few times this week. He enjoyed visiting Yarrow Valley Park and enjoyed chasing the ducks as well as barking at other dogs. He really did have a fantastic time.
Our garden fence was destroyed two weeks ago by huge winds. This has made it very difficult for Yoda to go outside without the temptation of running away.
I lost count of how many times he escaped and John (the mighty hubster) or Sylvia have had to run after him.
Luckily for us, I created a “master plan” for getting him back! As part of my uni education I studied child developmental psychology.
So I applied Pavlov’s theory of “classical conditioning” to the situation.
Every time I call out the word “Chicken” really loud and in a high pitched voice, (which sounds quite hilarious by the way”, Yoda comes running.
I have conditioned him to associate the word with having a small slice of chicken roll.
So even if he isn’t going to get chicken, he will come running to the kitchen door whenever he hears the word! It’s brilliant!
Toy of the week
Yoda loves his toys. This week he has really enjoyed playing with his new rubber Duck kindly donated by Grandma Rae. He loves it.
He has spent a lot of time biting, chewing and squeaking the Duck which happens to sound like the real thing.
It’s kept him entertained and has been a great distraction tool to help him stay focussed and stay out of trouble!
Caught in the Act
Yoda has been caught in the act a few times this week. He was found shoving his face into a porridge container and snapped stealing my strawberries!
He’s always on the hunt for something to eat! After all his alias is “Mr Piggy Wiggy”.

Yoda is looking for someone to Sponsor his posts. If you are interested please contact his owners. We will be more than happy to chat!
