Barleycup A Caffeine Free Drink We Love

This week Sylvia and I were sent two fantastic Jars of Barleycup to review. Barleycup happens to be one of my favourite hot drinks and it’s something I’ve been drinking since I was a child.

Barley Cup

The one thing I love about Barleycup is that it’s both gluten and caffeine free and I consider it to be a much healthier option than coffee, which is something we don’t drink in our home.

Barley Cup

You can get Barleycup in a number of forms and varieties. We were sent the Barley cup organic drink which is made from roasted barley, rye and chicory.  This is my favourite blend.

Barley Cup

We were also sent the Barleycup Instant powder which is is the same flavour but comes as a powder.

Barley Cup

Making a drink of Barleycup is pretty simple. You simply get a spoonful of powder and add hot water and milk. You can also add sugar if you like your drink to be sweet.

Barley Cup

I had to make my drink up in my favourite Naughty Nessies cup. I’m sure it has featured on here before. it’s was a fabulous gift I was given a few years ago and I really love it.

Barley Cup

I like to drink my Barleycup with a fair bit of milk. I’m not into boiling hot drinks and neither is Sylvia.

Barley Cup

Sylvia had her drink in one of the mugs John got for Christmas. It says, Yoda Best Dad! A fitting mug for a star wars fan and owner of Yoda our Bichon Frise.

Barley Cup

I really do like the Barleycup brand and it was a pleasure to review this drink here on the blog. It is super tasty and a healthy option for someone like me who has had a gastric bypass. It’s also great as it is gluten free and fabulous for those wanting to cut back on caffeine. It’s a drink I’d recommend any day.

  1. This is interesting to me since I miss coffee and I’m gluten free. I am fascinated that this drink IS gluten free with barley and rye in the name…interesting!! I’m going to have to try this. Thx, Angela!!

  2. I love this type of drinks! In Spain we have something similar called “Ecco” and children love it even tasting a bit like coffee haha x
