7 Inspiring Activities for the School Holidays
Nothing feels better than escaping school for a period of rest and relaxation. It’s time to spend time with your kids and plan fun activities that can help you make memories together that you will never forget.
We want to help you get ready for the school holidays. That’s why we have seven suggestions of fun activities that you can try. You won’t regret it!
Swimming Activities for the School Holidays
Honestly, who wouldn’t go swimming on their holidays? Swimming is a great way to burn off energy and to have a lot of fun as a family.
Whether you decide to go to a swimming pool in your town or a beach off the coast of the UK, you will be able to spend several hours enjoying yourself.
Indoor pools may have water obstacle courses or slides available for your kids to enjoy.
If you decide to go outside to a beach, make sure to pack a picnic and some additional towels to sit on.
Electric Cars
Do you want to make your child the coolest kid on the block?
Kids love being outside. So, why not spur their imaginations by letting them roam around in an electric car! Letting your kids ride on Lamborghinis around your neighbourhood is going to get them out and about in style.
If you are happy for the electric car to get a little muddy, you can even find a field to let your child roam around in a wide space without getting hurt.
Bike Riding
Strap on your helmet and get your bike ready. You’re going out for a ride! There’s nothing more fun than gathering the family together to go for an energized ride around your neighbourhood, a grassy park or even a National Trust area.
Bike riding is a great activity for kids. It helps them stay fit and healthy, and it’s a fun way to explore their surroundings.
There are plenty of different types of bikes available for kids, from balance bikes that teach them how to ride, to mountain bikes that let them explore the great outdoors.
Home Cinemas
Not all holiday activities involve you going outside! If you have a Netflix account or access to rentable movies, you can dress up your living room to look like a cinema.
Turn the lights down and get some movie snacks ready. You can even pretend to be a ticket taker before your kids go to see the film.
Gardening
If you are on holiday during the warmer months of Spring and Summer, why not get your hands dirty with some gardening? Create a small flower and vegetable patch in your garden for your kids to enjoy.
One of the great things about gardening is that it can be a family activity. Kids love getting their hands dirty, and there’s nothing like the satisfaction of growing something yourself. You can plant a garden in your backyard, or if you don’t have space, you can grow plants in containers.
The best way to get started is to choose a simple project. For example, you could plant a few herbs in containers on your deck or patio. Or you could create a small vegetable garden with the kids.
Picnics
If you are looking for something to do that is spur of the moment, why not have a picnic in the middle of your living room or in your garden?
It can liven up a normal lunch, especially if you give your kids some treats. You can make it even more special by turning it into a teddy bear’s picnic.
Treasure Hunts
If you want to spoil your kids a little with a few presents or treats, why not make it fun?
You can create a treasure hunt for them to find their goodies with educational clues and questions. You could even have this treasure hunt in your back garden!
