Sharing is caring!

A few weeks ago I got my third Liebester award. A Liebster award is a nomination from a fellow Blogger to recognise your work as a blogger. My first award was from a British Blogger, the second from a Mexican Blogger, the third from a Kiwi Blogger.

Now this was exciting for me because I consider myself to be a Kiwi. I’m part Maori – a native of New Zealand and identify with the Ngai Tahu Iwi or tribe. I have dual nationality and lived half my life in New Zealand. So it was really exciting for me to be awarded the Libester from a fellow Kiwi. I really do feel International.

Thank you Tegan – aka “A Kiwi Mumma!

Here are the Questions and my answers. Please do enjoy reading!

Why did you decide to start blogging?
I have a few reasons. Firstly I am a huge Family history fan and I wanted somewhere to share stories about my Tupuna (ancestors). I also write a Journal and thought it would be fun to make it into an online hobby. Lastly and most importantly I got sick of being unwell and was so upset by the effect it has on my family, I wanted to do something to make a living and to cover the cost of private health treatment to improve my quality of life and that of my daughter and husband.

What is the story behind your blog name?

A few weeks after my wedding day in 2013, I collapsed and was diagnosed with Adrenal Insufficiency. This changed my life. I’ve spent more time n bed than anywhere else. I decided to call my blog as this is where I will rest a lot of the time until I get the right medical treatment.

What is one thing you couldn’t live without?

My daughter. I love her so much. We spent nine months separated when she was younger and it broke my heart. By far the worst experience of my life.

Name three things on your “bucket list”

To take my daughter back to Disneyland

To publish my first book

To watch Les Miserables at the West End.

What is your happiest memory?

This would have to be the day I won my daughter back! I broke down and cried. I was in court and I had the biggest smile ever when the Judge told Family Services to give my child back.

My second happiest moment was being married to my darling husband John. My Wedding Day was perfection.

Name two of your favourite bloggers whose blogs you enjoy reading.

There are so many Brilliant blogs out there but my favourite of all time has to be

Inside Out and About– Esther is one of my best friends of all time. I get to follow her blog and see what she does when we live far apart! I love her fab ideas, activities and creative style. She is Amazing.

Growing Up Katertot – I met Katie on Twitter. Her Blog is so bright and bubbly. She has inspirational quotes, recipes and fab ideas for parenting. Katie inspires me to be a better Mother and helps me to feel better about myself.

What was your very first blog post (other than an introduction)?

My first ever blog post was about the pot holes on the roads in the Pacific Island of Tonga and how I related that to my own life, but I had a moment of self doubt and deleted it.

I have since learnt the Posts I doubt generally do just as well as the one’s I like.

What do you do to relax or wind down?

I turn on the fan and lay on the bed. I always feel overheated so a fan helps and I just love my bed.

What do you consider to be your biggest strength?

I am an organisation freak! This used to work against me as I would feel upset when things did not go according to plan but I have turned this into a strength. I plan, plan, plan and it helps our family to cope and stay on top of everything when I’m really unwell. It also helps me with the Blogging, although I don’t have much time to plan-  ha ha!  If things go wrong it does not matter because we can start again the next day!

What is your biggest achievement in life?
