5 Ways To Create The Dream Kitchen

dream kitchen

We recently moved into our new home and after 3 months we have finally finished improving the bedrooms. All the flooring is laid, the walls are painted and all we have to do is sort through and organise the upstairs. It’s really exciting to do renovations and make the home beautiful. Now we have completed the rooms, I can start thinking about the kitchen and today I’m going to share 5 ways to create the dream kitchen.

Revamping the cupboards and surfaces

Giving the kitchen cupboards a paint refresh is a great way to improve the kitchen on a budget. You could purchase a colour matching guide to help you pick out colours to paint the the cupboards that will compliment the rest of the kitchen. Changing the handles on the cupboards can make a huge difference to the asthetics and a new shiny surface could help create the dream look.

Kitchen reovations

Fitting New Flooring

I have to be honest, our Kitchen floor is not ideal. It needs replacing and there are so many fantastic options out there. If you look on Pinterest there are some fantastic ideas for Kitchen flooring.

I quite like the idea of Bamboo Flooring. I’m a huge fan of bamboo and have quite a lot of bamboo items in the kitchen. I also like the look of Amtico vinyl flooring. Amtico is a popular style at the moment and I like the fact that this type of vinyl is covered in a resin that gives the kitchen floor a permanent polished look.

New Kitchen Tiles

Good quality tiles can make a huge difference to any kitchen. When my old home was renovated I chose some plain large white tiles which looked fantastic. If I were to do this again, I think I’d go for something unique and quirky this time to give my kitchen a little more character. Either way a good set of tiles can really make the kitchen look more fresh and new.

Great Homewear

I seriously think if you have great home wear it can really boost the look and feel of the kitchen. I personally love matching items. A new matching set of pans, a kettle and toaster from the same brand. I purchased Morphy Richards kitchen items when I first arrived in the UK and they have lasted me a good seven years. Nice utensils and a gorgeous plate set can also make time in the kitchen a great experience.

Bringing the Outdoors Indoors

My ultimate dream kitchen would have patio doors that let the light into the kitchen and create a great indoor outdoor flow from kitchen to garden. One day I hope to buy aluminium sliding patio doors to enhance the kitchen and outdoor living areas in the home. It’s certainly a dream and the ultimate dream for my kitchen.

How would you improve your kitchen? Do you have any kitchen dreams? I’d love to here.

  1. This is a great post! Even changing little things can make a big difference. We recently painted our cupboards, and added some fablon to the tiles, and it looks like a whole new kitchen!
